Re: Wife's Story Now Available
Terry, I didn't know there was another crash 6 years ago. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully by now she's better again. I'm sorry. I thought I shared that with you. Yeah, she hit the fender and flew over the car and landing hard on her left shoulder. She tore all the ligaments in her right knee (the goo...

Re: Back again
Welcome back! I keep jumping in-and-out of here every few months just to see what's going on. I know all too well what it is like to go to be busy. I was working full-time, had a family, and went back to grad school. Currently, I have a regular job, am teaching a class, am taking a class, have two r...

Wife's Story Now Available
It's been a while since I've been active here but many of you probably remember the stories about my wife and her disability. She was in an accident in 2003 that resulted in her left leg being paralyzed from the knee down. In order to ride her own bike again, we had to install a Pingel electric shif...

Re: Just Dropping In (again)....
Why not sell a few and use the money to get a mechanic to fix a few up? Sometimes it’s best to reduce the mountain before starting to climb it! I can't bring myself to pay someone 300%-400% what the job should cost to have someone do substandard work. I can't remember the last time I didn't have to...

Re: Just Dropping In (again)....
I say drain fuel or at least fuel stab and battery tenders for all but the Paso or ST2 and ride only one until more time frees up. I have a couple of great 50-or-so mile rides near my home.....I am very sure your wife would support your cutting out on a Sunday morning from time to time. I was ridin...

Just Dropping In (again)....
Been a while since I've logged in. I hope everyone has been doing well. Life's been hectic since my wife's last accident when she T-boned a car making a left turn in front of her. I just never seem to have any time to ride, and the bikes are all degrading and mostly non-running these days. :,( Maybe...

Re: Where ??????????????
Unless the rotors are warped, I've never seen any Paso rotors that were worn thin enough to need replacing. They may only need to be cleaned and repainted/refinished.kettlep wrote:I need new tires, new rotors
Re: Noise
Sounds like the exhaust header is rattling because you don't have any mufflers on it and the outlets of the header pipe is unsecured.plasmid wrote:Any idea what the high frequency metallic noise is - from about 0.20 on?
May also be something as simple as a vibrating kickstand spring.

Re: Damaged Head and Piston plus sleeve for postage plus som
It's a shame you weren't in the US. I've been wanting a 2V head to use as a training aid for showing people how to do a valve adjustment. A clean and a repaint and the head would make a neat desktop paperweight, too.

It's been dropping here. I saw it for $3.49/gallon a couple of days ago with most places between $3.52 and $3.59.Desmo_Demon wrote:"Only" $3.69 here.

Re: Forks are crooked after asembly
I usually do it by loosening all the clamps on bottom yoke and wheel spindle but keep the clamps on the top yoke tight. then push the wheel against a wall and bounce the forks up and down a few times. This should bring everything into line and then I tighten all the clamps. I do a similar ritual wh...

Sometimes you gotta wonder if its all worth it :-( :-( . Seems a high price to pay for a ride in the sun. I admire your wife's tenacity and wish her all the best ..... you too . Crashes like this affect the whole family, especially partners / wifes/ husbands. I reckon Dianne came off worse than me ...

you must be kidding ! But if werevolves attack you`re still screwed  I reload, so I just have to melt down some old silver dollars and mold myself some bullets for the werewolves. To play it safe, since I have no idea which one I will get attacked by, I will load my magazine with a Zombie-Max,...
