Re: Metzler ME 1

I talked with Metzler Switzerland and they told me, that they would produce the ME1 160 / 70 16 again in 2010 (most probably). First of all it sounds good, because the conversion to 17' destroyes the orginal looks (which I really like) and the 180/60 16 causes some problems (as described in this fo...

Cover for 750 Paso

I was struggling to get a decent cover for my 750, and turned to a local cover manufacturer called Skinz. Although they are based about 400km (250 miles) away they organised to measure my Paso the next time that they were in Johannesburg. I received the new fitted cover on Friday and thought that yo...

Brett,

Mine came with PHM40s when I got it four and a half years ago. I would agree that it would probably be better with 36s.

Some photos from the Ducati Dream Day at Kyalami

Just a few pictures from Saturday's Ducati Dream Day at Kyalami race track. This followed on from Monday's World launch of the 1098 at Kylami. There were only nine pre-1990 bikes on display in the historic section as Ductai did not officially sell bikes here until about 1995. So all that were here w...

I don't normally watch the 906 section as I have a 750. Are the 906 16" tyres the same as the 750s ? If so, see my post about Metzeler tyres at : http://ducatipaso.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1393&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 The quoted price was around ...

I can get a 6mm Allen key between the tyre and the swingarm, all the way around, but I can't get an 8mm one in. I don't have a 7mm one long enough to try.

Red, Next week we will have been in the new place 8 months. The reason for being so quiet is that the wireless broadband out there is shocking (between .7 and 7kb/s). I eventually get fed up and stop using it. In the next couple of weeks Telkom will be installing our 384kb/s ADSL and then you'll see...

I've just taken photos but only the front one is clear. Between the highest point on the front tyre and the lowest point on the mudguard is 6mm clearance. There are no scuff or tyre marks on the underneath of the mudguard. These tyres have been on for a year / around 1,000km and have just done a tra...

When I bought my bike five years ago I was given a spare set of tyres with it. These tyres are Metzler MEZ1 130/70 ZR 16 (front) ME1 160/70 VB 16 (rear) About a year ago I had to replace my tyres and put these on. They fit fine, but are a little closer to the mudguard (fender ?) and swingarm than st...

Anders, I have twin Dell Orto PHM40s with the fuel pump still plumbed in. I tried bypassing the fuel pump and had very similar problems to you in that it wasn't happy to rev much beyond 5,000 revs and didn't want to respond to a snapped open throttle. Putting the fuel pump back in sorted out the pro...

Desmo_Demon, I've been offline for a couple of months and I'm trying to catch up. I have twin PHM 40 Dell Ortos and I have two of those "Y"pieces in the fuel line. From the standard pump the pipe goes to the first "Y". One side of this goes back to the tank and the other goes to ...

Dalagem, When I bypass the pump it doesn't get to the point of cutting out, it is just a lack of power and it doesn't want to rev (from around 5,000 revs I think. I did this about two years ago). If I put the pump back in line it pulls well and rides nicely. So I decided to leave the pump in. It cou...
