Re: Now what have I done? It won't engage starter...

Those look pretty nice. I've been looking for another starter relay. Is there a reason I can't use one from the Sport Classic? I figure I can make a short jumper cable to go from the original 907 switch to the new Sport Classic relay so an original or another newer solenoid could go in. Thoughts, id...

Re: Now what have I done? It won't engage starter...

Thanks Higgy! Once I found the starter relay I shorted across it and the bike started fine, so I started disconnecting the relay water ran out of one of the boots, and one side was quite funky. I read in a thread about putting a small hole in the bottom of the boot so I did that to both sides, I als...

Now what have I done? It won't engage starter...

The last time I rode my bike I burped the coolant system then hosed down the engine to get off any coolant that dripped on it. In the process I blew one of the 15 amp fuses that work the horn and idiot lights, etc...Today I decided that I'd wash the bike then wax it and go out for a ride. The bike l...

Re: I need a little DIY maintenance help.

I've changed the oil and filter and get no where near as much oil in the system as the manual calls for. Is the max line checked warm? Cold? Running? When running it looks lower than max so i could add more, but when sitting its at the line. Ideas? Suggestions? I'll be happy when I've learned all th...

Re: I need a little DIY maintenance help.

I made my own tank washer. It's a bunch of rubber fender washers laminated together with a good rubber glue. I'll enlarge the inner hole tomorrow if I find it to be too small. Outer dimension is almost spot on, just slightly too big, but I can fix that easily tomorrow as well! =)

Re: I need a little DIY maintenance help.

- Thanks for the photos, I'm definitely missing that rubber disk. I'll have to make or find a replacement for that.

I need a little DIY maintenance help.

I've been riding the Duc since I got home from my 2 1/2 year gig overseas a few weeks ago. Today I installed a new air filter, I'm in the process of flushing the coolant, then I'll change the oil and this weekend I'll go back to the factory spark plugs. I also got some Michelin Pilot Road 3s to go o...

Re: Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyre review

I just got a set in the stock size, hope to get them on this week. They're replacing an old set of Michelin Macadam that were on the bike when I bought it 4 years ago. I've been out of the country most of that time and have only put 1k miles or so on them since but worry about old tires. I'll update...

what about the bushings? Mine seem to be nylon or a hard plastic. I'm missing a few. I was thinking about rubber as a replacement. Any ideas?

sorry for the jhijack but they seem to go together.
