Re: Fuel tank fitment

:choo: :choo: :banghead: looks like a cracked tank repair to me, most likely you will get the chance to do it again. A reinforcement plate like Mctool did is recommended

Re: Fuel tank fitment

tanks are prone to cracking in that area. Have had my 906 tank welded more than once. Tanks need to be thoroughly washed out and filled with argone before even attempting to weld BTW !

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue

Just as a passing note of interest; even brass floats will eventually take on fuel. Especially now with so much ethanol in the mix

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue

Should do nicely. Have a friend recently did this to his 906 and is happy. I have one for my 906 but it is currently in pieces waiting for spring refresh.

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue

floats do eventually take on fuel and become less buoyant or even not at all buoyant

Might also be a good idea to check your fuel pressure as it may be too much pressure for the float to overcome

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue

Flooding of that degree is as you stated either the top gasket leaking or the float not closing. There is also the possibility of a crack in the carb.

Re: 1989 750 Sport idle issue

Over fill on the oil can cause issues.......... Air leaks can also be an issue. valve adjustment No easy answers. Sudden problems can be electrical, corrosion is common on older bikes. Where to start ? First I think I would check the voltage at the coils. Anything less than 12 is a problem. General c...
