907ie in UK - nice numberplate SOLD

Now Sold Sadly due to car purchase my 1992 907ie must go. It has quite a bit of history, 16k miles from new and runs like a new bike. New Pirellis, resealed forks. Not concours, but very smart and completely original including paint, exhausts, brakes etc. Only non-original part is stick-on blue pins...

Re: Overflow Tank

Very cool, I'm sure you'll love the bike - I do mine.

To save your wife's nerves though, why not see if anyone here lives close to the Dealer and will go with her to give it a closer look?

I'm sure we'd all help out a serviing soldier to make sure you don't get sold a lemon!

I'd take it to someone with a hydraulic press before trying to drill it out....

I believe 9.0kg/mm is standard on the 907.

Re: MR1 Fork Leg Modification.

Do you know the part numbers of the Gold Valves they're putting in? Racetech don't list one for the 907.

Which Wilbers shock are you getting?

Re: Spring rate f different riders?

I think the proper sag is more important than custom spring rates for most riders. Correct for all riders! If your static and loaded sags are both correct, you have the right spring. If one of the sags is wrong, the only fix is to change the spring. For you, something like a 0.90kg/mm spring would ...

Re: Hopefully, a new owner.

Hi Jon, and welcome! I think you'd be advised to check the oil strainer (they have a strainer and a filter) for slivers of crank gallery plug, which can sometimes back out and will eventually lead to the seizure of your engine. There is a good thread on this site on the topic complete with pictures....

Re: pressior regulator

Get one from a scrapped 907? Having played around with an adjustable fuel pressure reg on my racing 996, I don't think your lack of power is down to the fp reg. It only makes a difference at (very) high revs. I would check to see what pressure you are actually getting (I have a gauge you can borrow ...

Re: adjusting clutch biting point ??

It's not designed to be adjustable, but you can try a) bleeding the clutch line b) if that doesn't help, remove the clutch pressure plate and put a small ball bearing inside the pressure plate bearing cup, ie so it lengthens the pushrod. One or both of the above will work no probs. Failing that you ...

Re: early bike

in the UK we have earlier numbered bikes first registered in 95 !!! Yes. It looks to me like the UK was used as a convenient dumping ground for unsold US-spec bikes, as they didn't have to change the speedo from MPH to do so. My bike has a Fahrenheit temp gauge, which I presume means it was origina...

Re: early bike

According to Falloon, they made a total of 2303 907's. Mine is a late 92 and is frame #2225. From that, I was assuming that they started at #0001, but maybe that's taking logic too far? Or maybe Falloon's wrong...

Re: early bike

This is exactly why I suggested that I would start a register http://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3257. At that time, no one wanted to divulge frame numbers because a certain englishstiv pointed out the 'risks' of doing so. I still believe a register of the bikes that survive is the...

The rule is two links added/removed from the chain for every four teeth up or down on the sprocket.
