OK, we added $5 to the price of the item and made the shipping free (US only). My eBay guy tells me there's a problem with eBay's calculator and that's why the shipping estimates were coming out so high.

I believe the shipping is calculated through eBay - we enter the product weight and dimensions and add a small handing fee and they do the rest.
