Re: fork seals ?

Well, the fork tube is 40mm, but I don't know the outside dimension or the height. If you take out the seals, the size is usually on the seal. Should be an easy seal size to find, unlike the M1R which has a 41.7mm fork tube. Cheers, thanks for that - i think i have located some. sizes that i have b...

Re: I have a 1990 750 sport, what are the ods?Now lets get tires

i wonder if choosing a 150/80 16 rear tire rather than a 180/60 16 would be the best choice. i believe a 180/60 aspect ratio would give a smaller tire height and thus a reduced overall diameter. 150/80 yields a 120 height, whereas a 180/60 yields a 108 height. this seems like a big difference in va...

sorry about that it is the 130/70 -16 on the front - I did have a small mudflap on the back of the front mudgard but that had to come off as the small bolts would have cut into the tyre, it is that close.

Re: I have a 1990 750 sport, what are the ods?Now lets get tires

I have just fitted some 'new' tires, although a higher profile they make the bike a bit quicker cornering, the front just fits though you will smell burning rubber for a few miles, till it stops rubbing on the front mudguard (fender) they are Avon Azzaro's :- F:- 130/60 -16 (AV45) R:- 150/80 -16 (AV...

Re: A bit of a poser?

bit of an update - Dave M had an old one lying around and has kindly sent it to me to see if it is usable, either to repair it or to use as spares. there is a small crack in the casing which i should be able to seal up, araldite is looking favorite as an immediate thought, but perhaps j&b welder...

A bit of a poser?

I have a 750 sport as well as my Monster, the sport has 16 inch rims and i have eventually found tires to fit it, they are Avon Azzaros, these are a lot higher profile than the original Michelin's making the outside diameter of the tire the same as the monster, my problem is the speedo drive on the ...

Re: speedo drive ?

I have taken a couple of pics of what has fallen apart but can;t seem to post them, the brass part where the cable screws onto has pulled out of the main body (looks like the splines are worn) and the worm drive has fallen out through the hole. I have a drive box from an aprillia 125 as suggested el...

Re: speedo drive ?

Did you just break the tab washer, or did more of the assembly fall out? I'm not sure how it "fell out" since it should be kept in place by the axle. At any rate, there must be someone here who converted to 17" rims who has one for you. Ben I had a KPH to MPH converter fitted and thi...
