Re: Dunlop D250 180/60R 16 fitted

I have been watching the topic and those advocating either grinding/cutting the side off the tyre, or fitting a 150-80-16 instead. I am obviously opposed to modying the tyre from a purist's point of view. It just seems a bodge and would annoy me every time I looked at it. Also there is no need to re...

Re: Avon Azaro-ST on the Paso 906

@hardo: Yes, my Paso was the testbike from Ducati Germany what came from the information i became, that they had tested in 2009 a Paso 750 and needed to test a Paso with the big ( ) engine too. I wonder if the bike has been tested with a pillion passenger? A 150-80-16 (can't remember what...

Re: Dunlop D250 180/60R 16 fitted

Well I'm pleased to see some support for my concerns about removing rubber from the sidewall. I suspect that rubber is there for more than cosmetic reasons. I went to a lot of trouble to document a way to fit a 180-60 without resorting to the kind of butchery displayed here. My tyre is off the shelf...

Re: My D250 was touching the chain sometimes

Mobius wrote: Talking to the tyre supplier, he reckoned there was an awful lot of "meat" on the outside of the tyre, and that I could grind even more of it off if it was still touching.
I would be more interested in what a tyre manufacturer thinks of this modification.

Re: Dunlop D250 180/60R 16 fitted

Well, over 6 months has gone by since the 906's Warrant of Fitness and it was overdue for another. I rode it out to the tester this morning and it of course passed without problem. It has been the worst winter here for motorcycling - whenever it stopped raining it was a work day and the rain returne...

Re: hi all from new member looking for paint

Yes, even getting paint mixed from codes does not mean it will match, due to fading - as you point out.

As for decals, I had a local signwriter do mine on his computer - they were all available on the programme he had.

Cheers,

Re: hi all from new member looking for paint

Hi and welcome. Although I'm in New Zealand I hope my advice may apply to Uk too. I recently had my 906 repainted by a car painter who has a reputation for matching colours well. I had him touch up the fairing on my previous bike and he matched it perfectly. Can I suggest you visit your nearest larg...

Re: Dunlop D250 180/60R 16 fitted

CB I don`t get this To fit this tyre, I had to move the chain over. I estimated this to be 10mm. My front sprocket was offset in by 5mm, so by removing it and turning it over I got the 10mm offset required. If the (flat) sprocket is behind the retainer clip and you reverse it you just gain the 5mm ...

Re: Dunlop D250 180/60R 16 fitted

Hi CB - did you tune or check the speedometer after the conversion? - is the sidestand working or is the angle know very different than before the conversion (or did you extend the side stand / central stand in any way)? Hardo Hi Hardo, I have not checked or altered the speedo since the conversion,...

Sprockets

I came across this list of Ducati sprockets in a JT catalogue and thought it may be of use. I see later 906s are geared up by a couple of teeth, but not 907s :dunno: .
