Re: Clutch Slave Rebuild

Do not sand the cylinder wall. As the seal moves over it you want the surface as smooth as possible. I'd clean it with brake cleaner or Acentone, then if necessary use fine steel wool and at last metal polish. If you use wet sand paper I'd take 600 grid or finer as the sanding marks can be polished ...

Re: Ducati Paso 750 complete restoration

I also tought that i removed them from steering stops. But there is no adjustable steering stops on paso. On mine there are. I always thought those were original but maybe one of the past owners drilled the holes and fitted adjustment bolts. Could it be the bolts to mount the brake line splitter in...

Re: Ducati Paso 750 complete restoration

Those two bolts don't look like anything from a Paso. Did you remove the two bolts from the lower triple clamp, maybe. The ones that adjust how far the fork can be turned to left or right?

Re: Poor starting

Keith, what airfilter setup are you using and do you still have a fuel pump? The wiring mod originally came from the P750. While the wiring design of the 906 with the main power running through the ignition switch is the same at least the coils seem to be of a better quality. First thing to do is me...

Re: Ducati Paso 750 complete restoration

The parts catalogs are not 100% reliable. It's possible that early M1R forks had that "ferrule" in both legs and later didn't. If you look at the 906 parts catalog (which was probably printed some time after the one of the P750), it shows that part only in the left fork leg. If that Öhlins...

I'm waiting on a carb kit for my 1980 Vespa, and that goes back together first.
I'm currently finishing a Malossi 221cc engine for my '85 Vespa T5. :truck:

Re: '88 Paso 750 starts on one cylinder only. Spark good.

As expected the voltage is way too low. Probably at a higher rpm there would be enough voltage for the front cylinder to get spark and run as well. Ideally the voltage at the coils should be the same as measured at the battery. The culprit causing a high resistance is often the ignition switch. Do t...

Looks like it caught on fire.
It looked different a couple of years ago: viewtopic.php?t=2165&start=45
Are those mirrors from a 999? They just closed the opening between mirror and fairing?

Re: 906 fairings to 907IE

I've seen 906s with the 907IE front screen and vice versa so that's compatible. Rear sides and taillight fairings are interchangeable although the taillight fairing piece is shaped a little differently around the lock. That leaves the front side fairings. Here I can only guess that these are the sam...

Re: öhlins overhaul; anyone?

I should have sent it to Finland then as the rebuilt cost €360 here. Also the spring isn't available anywhere in Germany. I'll have it powdercoated.

Re: '88 Paso 750 starts on one cylinder only. Spark good.

Often what seems to be a carb issue turns out to be an ignition issue. You say you have spark and that it runs properly with starter fluid. As that ignites very easily the spark may not be strong enough to properly ignite the fuel. Therefore measure the voltage at the coils (orange wire) with igniti...

A really clean looking bike. Nice job.
Two comments tho. The center stand seems to be hanging a bit low and the rear axle excenter is upside down.

Re: öhlins overhaul; anyone?

It's been a long time since I've posted something on the forum the last time, but now I have a question. Does anyone know where to find the spring 1099-05 and the hose 1042-04? (preferably within the EU) I just had a DU-508 rebuilt but the shop who's an official Ohlins partner says they can't get th...

Re: cam pulley

18 tooth cam pulleys from a 851/888/916/748 will fit on a 750 Paso/Sport, 906 or 907IE. The 20 tooth ones from the Teastastretta won't. Most cam pulleys, specially aftermarket ones don't have the outer flange.
