Re: Brake disk rubbing
NO , that ain't right. Is there any free play in the brake pedal or is it feeling solid, either the master cyl is not releasing the brake properly after use or the shop has put a spacer in the wrong place . I wouldn't ride it as I can see the brake over heating , and possibly locking without warnin...

Brake disk rubbing
I had the tires changed a few weeks ago and I just noticed that the brake disk is rubbing on the pads - makes quite a bit of noise which wasn't there before. Since I have zero confidence in the shop that changed the tires considering they lost the front wheel washer etc, can you guys tell me if this...
Re: Fuel hose
Thanks Ronald.

For a 750, does the following fuel line work? Is 2m sufficient?

Re: front wheel
BTW - just a quick check of the other Duc's from this period, they all seem to have some kind of washer on the RH side

Re: front wheel
Also, based on some of the other photos on the server, some bikes don't have the washer anymore which only proves that others are missing it, not that it isn't required. One would have to fully screw an axle into a fork leg (w/o the rim), then measure the length of the thinner part of the axle. If ...

Re: front wheel
If you look at the sliding caliper it shows almost 29mm. How do you read 24mm? Unless one of the past owners replaced the washer mine is still the original one. Imo there's not the one correct size for that washer. The question to ask is why is there a washer in the first place? It should not be ne...

Re: front wheel
Yeah, I saw the one from Dnse, which is NLA right now. Is that what you got?
Guess I'll try the bigger one also and see.
Thanks for the input - much appreciated.

BTW - can you tell me the outer diameter of your washer?
I did find another that's 2.5mm thick, 17.2 ID and 33.5 OD

Re: front wheel
The washer is 3mm thick. The washer of the speedo drive exists only in the parts catalog, not in real life. I had tried a 1mm shim once and with it the brake discs were not centered in the calipers. Thanks. The one you got is def. thicker than the one I got on there now - this one's about 1.5mm I t...

Re: front wheel
Put the washer that I found which looked correct on.
Looks about right, although, I'd still like to confirm if you guys have a washer on the speedo drive side also.

Re: front wheel
Looking at the parts manual (page 34) the speedo drive (part number eight) is made up of two parts, one if which is a washer. Can anyone confirm if there's a washer between the speedo drive and the fork leg? In the workshop manual there's only mention of a washer on the RH side, but the pictures sho...

Re: front wheel
Went back to the shop - I think I found the original washer.
For reference the dimensions are: 1.5mm thick, 17mm ID, 26.9 OD
Didn't install it yet cause that mechanic wasn't there, but it seems to line up as before.
In any case, if anyone has an extra 1 or two I'll buy them.

Re: front wheel
Thought some more about this. I think they're separate issues. The washer is definitely missing - found some older photos. But, it's the speedo drive that determines where the wheel sits. The tire being closer to the mud guard on one side may be due to the slightly different profile compared to the ...
