‘New’ forum member

Hi all, I’m the owner of a 1988 750 Paso from 2002 and registered to this forum from 2010. Although I’ve been working as a civil engineer for two decaes, I settled my own Ducati specialist workshop in 2016. In all these years, along with the Paso, I’ve become the owner of 4 more Ducatis: a MTS 1000 ...

Re: source for piston rings or piston set

I got my piston rings exactly at the same price (170€ for both cylinders) 4 months ago in the Ducati dealer. They are coomen parts, expensive though,

Re: Straight form the time machine....

Certainly, more expensive than that, BUT Paso/Sport cylinders PN's are different from the F1 ones.

I've an out of tolerances Paso horizontal cylinder and I'll check the differences (if they are)

Re: Straight form the time machine....

Maybe the pictures may make them seem somehow different, but externally they look exactly Paso cylinder with the "scanimet" (italian version of Nikasil) hardening treatment. I know it because I've replaced the front cylinder of my Paso this winter and, although they have different PN, they...

Re: Crankshaft Turning Tool

Yes, turning the rear wheel is not the most accurate thing in this world JUST for cam timing. But for cam timing the right procedure is adjusting piston squish and for doing that there's no other mean that fitting plastic gauge on the piston head. For valve adjusting, the rear wheel procedure accura...

Re: Crankshaft Turning Tool

Good news!!!!! You don't really need a turning tool to perform this job on ANY Ducati. I own three, an F1, a Paso 750 and a MTS 1000 I do all their maintenance work..... and a bit more! The timing pulleys marks are there for the Horizontal cylinder ONLY. You just need to find the right position for ...

Re: Fork Seal Part Number

WARNING!!!! I've recently changed the fork seals on my Paso and the Ducati Part Number is WRONG!!!!! In some time in history, someone has changed something and the seals that you get for that PN are those of the Cagiva Elephant. Having the same inner and outer diameter, they are thicker, so, they WO...

Re: What do do with those bl*%dy brakes?

A very easy tecnique that works for bleeding the MC needs no tools at all: 1.- Turn the handebar full left. 2.- Tilt the bike leftwards as much as you can (Trust on your force or a helping friend) 3.- Pump repeatedly. The theroy is very simple: In this position, the MC is completely tilted the right...
