The local duke guy here sez the go is to remove the central rod completely, now I would have thought that this piece was there to allign the pressure plate concentricaly, and while my pressure plate is still standard ( and yes , I did have to weld it up ),I'll probly try this if mine gives any more...

I have just emailed a unofficial dealer her in Denmark, Madsen Garage, hé is al in to older Ducati models :) And hopefully he could have something on his shelves in the backroom!
