Re: New owner with a few ??

Well finally got the Sport finished and on the road, few niggles held things up (and working on other bikes!) ; - getting carbs sorted and jetted, have ended up with 132.5 mains (140 too rich), and dynojet needles, perhaps a bit lean but moving needle jet position should sort it. - forks were terrib...

WTD: 750/900 Sport Fuel tank

Looking for a 750/900 Sport fuel tank - condition not important, as being used for a project.

Cheers

Re: New owner with a few ??

Again cheers for the comments. The intakes/filter pods came with the set of carbs but have never been fitted (besides a sort of rolling chassis (which had to be completely stripped due to the in competency of the previous owner/butcher) the bike came in a box of bits!), will see how she runs on them...

Re: New owner with a few ??

Thanks for the comments guys, a few more pics as she nears completion. Just a few more bits n pieces to finish off - weld up link pipes to fit reverse megas, indicator to come from Australia, etc. The old/new Michelins, came with the bike and they in pretty good condition. She also runs pretty well ...

Re: New owner with a few ??

Well as you can see from the pics I have been sort of busy over the summer! As always the case with these things the bike looked better than she was (although only had 14k km's on the clock) - the org restoration had began in the late 90's and a lot needed to be done (lot was bodged) - so a complete...

Re: Rear shock info

Thanks for the info Clive, don't think its needs a full rebuild as the seals seem OK, just a re-oil/gas. Will prob leave it with my Ohlins guy as it should be filled with Nitrogen anyway. Will let you all know, if I gleam any info from him re the shock.

Rear shock info

While the rear shock on the bike is in pretty good condition (bike had only 8k miles), I still want to re-oil/gas it - anybody now if a manual is avail for these shocks (workshop manual doesn't even mention it!) or volumes/weights needed? It came with 32mm preload (top of spring to end of threads) i...

Re: New owner with a few ??

Thanks for all the replies guys, have been busy stripping the bike (other project - the M900 Café, will have to take a step back for a while!), took the engine out and sprayed it – went for a black enamel in the end – looks pretty good. Found a local place here in N Ireland that actually manufacture...

New owner with a few ??

Hi Only just picked up this '89 750 Sport to add to an ever increasing garage of Ducatis (888 Foggy Rep, ST3, M900 Cafe project). Had no intention of buying, but one of those 'too good' to let go deals - guy had done most of a full restoration and lost heart at the final stages. The bike had been st...
