Re: servicing a marzocchi rear shock
Help! The shop that is rebuilding the shock can't find replacement seals or seal head. Does anyone know where to source these parts or have a cross referenced part from another vendor? Its a 14mm ID with a 40mm OD. My seal head has the hex head to accept a wrench rather than two holes for a pin driv...

Re: servicing a marzocchi rear shock
Ok, I do understand the need for an undamaged shaft. What affect does the N2 charge perform? Could this cure my rebound problem? Is it possible to perform a "leakdown" test on the unit to verify the seals/o-rings are bad? Can I add oil myself somewhere? Do we have a manual for the specific...

servicing a marzocchi rear shock
When I fully compress the rear shock, the rebound appears to be undampened for the first 80% of the return travel, then is dampened for the last 20% of travel.
Is it low on oil/N2? Service or replace it?

Re: Fast Idle set to 25% or won't idle
Update: Turns out that the horizontal cylinder had a 0% leakdown reading. Once this was resolved with a basic valve adjustment, the idle was restored. We confirmed by performing a synch with a manometer. All good now. Thanks for all the input - was very helpful to have all the information before mak...

Re: Rebuild/replace cylinder heads - help
Update: I followed some of your service and shop recommendations that eventually led me to Motoservizio in Long Beach, CA. The mechanic was outstanding. He promptly confirmed the problem with a leakdown tester; the exhaust valve on the horizontal cylinder needed adjustment (we could also hear the le...

Re: Rebuild/replace cylinder heads - help
The bike has 23000 mi. Yes, its a Ducati shop. All the Duc shops in Los Angeles are crooked. I do have a compression tester, when I get the bike home next week I will verify their opinion. I think I'll try the valve shimming and adjustment myself. If the valve is "tulipped", I won't be abl...

Rebuild/replace cylinder heads - help
Took my bike to the shop today. The idle was low, and I decided not to do the idle adjustment myself. I asked them to check the idle/tps and perform a compression/leakdown test while it was there. Forward cylinder: 0psi Vertical cylinder: 125psi This is surprising since the bike appears to run fine ...

Re: WTB (USA): 907ie speedo cable, handgrips, throttlelock
I can't believe it - the Dealer here in Los Angeles actually located a speedo cable with that part number (thanks guys!) in the Bologna factory warehouse. They said it will arrive here in 5-8 days at a cost of $21.00 USD. No shipping charges. They said it would have arrived sooner, except the boys i...

Re: WTB (USA): 907ie speedo cable, handgrips, throttlelock
Take it easy on me, I'm fairly new to this hobby. ;) I'd like to find the same grips that the bike shipped with; I was speculating that the dealers don't sell them anymore... and opening the possibity that some aftermarket vendor makes clones. Yeah, I'm willing to pay the extra $ for concourse points.

Re: WTB (USA): 907ie speedo cable, handgrips, throttlelock
Thanks for the info. I'm sort of a purist, so I was hoping to find grips very similar to oem. If there aren't any options, can anyone offer a suggestion about gel grips? That seems appealing to me.
Thanks
Thanks

WTB (USA): 907ie speedo cable, handgrips, throttlelock
I need some recommendations on where to acquire some of these parts - don't see anyone parting out a bike like mine just now.
I'm willing to buy a universal internal cable kit if anyone has direct experience with one that worked perfectly.
Thanks!

FS: 1991 907ie 23k miles, California - clean!
I listed this bike last year, but unlisted it to fix it up *correctly* before selling it. So here it is 6 months later - ready to go! 42 mpg. 23,100 miles. Stock. Clean! Never dropped, cracked, scratched, raced or abused. Adult owned, ridden, and maintained. No drips. Starts great, runs great, drive...

Re: Fast Idle set to 25% or won't idle
Thanks for the additional info. I don't think you're appreciating my dilemma with the local shops here in L.A. I can afford a $300 service. I'm asking what the hours/rate is so that the shop doesn't screw me for additional work that I don't need. I had a perfectly tuned 1988 750 Paso with no leaks o...

Re: Fast Idle set to 25% or won't idle
Approximately what MPG would indicate a healthy bike? 45? 50? Don't bother giving me the disclaimer about how I drive - I drive like a grandma. I think you're suggesting that I can check the TPS without fussing with any of the other adjustments? If so, I'll start with that. I won't be using any blu-...
