The tank's shape can be distorted by the bike being dropped. One of my 907s have that condition, its pretty subtle but obvious once you know what to look for.

Seems the impact loads transfer from the mirror/fairings directly into the tank.

My guess is leaking fuel lines. Both my 907s leaked at the various connections when I first got them. Hose clamps need to be snugged up on occasion as the hoses dry out.

also at 6.000rpm and more ? The primary gear reduction is 2:1 so the clutch basket runs at 1/2 the crank speed but point taken and considered. The pump doesn't always run when you turn the key...the pump doesn't crank over unless the line pressure is down... The rubber disk should be there, I have no idea why you have a bolt and nut. The bolt head is obviously making hard contact with the tank (not good) based on the paint. This mount supports the tank, the side panels and rear bolts stabilize it. You can reference the Parts Catalogue available elsewher...

I still have a good, leak free coolant tank on my '93 and in an effort to keep it that way I'm considering going to waterless coolant.
