Re: 16 inch Shinko Tyres for Paso

troy at gowanlochs told me that they ordered golden tyres, as they had done before, and received shinkos. same supplier. I assumed it was just shinko taking over the naming of production. I think the 003 used to be the yokohama tyre as used in the proddie class here on rgv, etc. one of them was anyw...

Re: Dead Ignition Pickup

for kokusan boxes? electrexworld sell them, p8 is the #. not the same resistance as std, works fine when fitting just one. need to be soldered into the original wiring, but there is a solder sleeve just at the pick up to make it easy. wires are also reversed, or reverse them at the box connector to ...

Re: Oil leaks heads-cyl, a solution?

allowing oil to leak from the combustion chamber/quote] The guy in my link had no oil leaks after his fix of the oil channels so where does the leak occur from?!? I've measured head to cyl freeplay when cold, it is around 0,34mm, does this gap reduce to almost nil when engine is fully warmed, anyon...

Re: Oil leaks heads-cyl, a solution?

heat them up on a hot plate/oven to 350-500F(176-260C) for 2 hours then torque them down on a flat 1 inch steel plate and let them cool down. There are times when just heating/cooling the head (annealing) is all that is needed and there are times when the head needs to be torqued over a shim plate ...

Re: Oil leaks heads-cyl, a solution?

ime 1/ the paso oil leak is from the heads 'warping', allowing oil to leak from the combustion chamber. no idea why they leak oil in stead of gas, but they do. i have the chamber and head face skimmed flat to fix them. altho a good dose of engine sealant may work. heap cheaper too. 2/ i think i cou...

Re: torque setting for sprocket nuts...

i always do sprocket nuts to 45nm with blue loctite, but the most important part is to make sure the cush drive pins are tight in the carrier. on the early bikes they turn the same way as the nuts, if that makes sense. and i think that's why so many came loose back in the day. i put an 8mm hex piece...

Re: mikuni carb conversion?

the mikuni manifolds are the same part number for both cylinders. 750 is 14010071B (2000), 900 is 13710081A (earlier?). the 900 has a downward angle from the head face flange, as it has to meet in the same place the 600 and 750 manifolds do as carb location is the same on all capacities. the 600 hav...

Re: 2 more sports are done

that's kind of funny. i have a 93ss i'm looking at fitting a 750 sport tank to with the same f1 race seat (old racing spare parts?) and an f1 front fairing.

do you have a photo of the tail lights? i've been wondering what i'm going to do with mine.

Re: Hi From Melbourne Australia.

Guys with that attitude piss me off. Next time you meet someone ask if they ever owned a Paso or if it`s just hearsay. All some guys hear is carb problems and unavailability of tires. That`s enough for building up prejudice. They probably never came near one though and most likely have never ridden...

Re: Bike Stalls Once Warm and over 5500 RPM

i would remove the eprom from the ecu and refit a couple of times to clean the pins and sockets. a blocked fuel filter can give a sudden cut issue. doens't make any sense, but it happens. also fuel flow does depend on rpm. while it might get the same fuel per cycle at 3,000 rpm wot as 6,000 rpm, the...

Re: 907 sync and tps

if possible you need to find out what the ecu is reading at wot. but i'm not sure what available software will talk to a p7 - not all do. the p7 was replaced by the faster, more capable p8 because that's progress. 4.67 sounds a bit low to me, i'd expect at least 4.8. i haven't got software here that...

WTB Ignition switch Paso and 750 Sport

I have a customer's 750 Sport in which needs an ignition switch due to an unsuccessful theft attempt leaving his rather damaged. Anyone have one or know of a source?
