Re: 907 Gold valve covers

The black covers are usually on the early P750. They early P750 had a different type of valve train. Can’t remember what changed, but that is when the gold covers started. The changed made it easier to set the gaps and what have you. The two types of covers are also interchangeable so they (the blac...

Re: Bad Bearing

Hi. The bearing should have a number stamped in the outer race. Another spot to look is the Sein Dinse parts and photo web site. They did have the bearing there when I was looking for them. They are pretty common bearing. You will need to remove the assembly and use a punch to knock it through. Once...

Re: 750 vs 906 vs 907 dash

Hey Hamish. Everything looks the same, even down to the membrane PCB. It looks like the previous owner may have even replaced the gauge at some point as it is a bit different in its mounting, so this issue may have been there a while? I just went for it and put in the water temp gauge in to see if a...

750 vs 906 vs 907 dash

Hi. Over the last few years I have come into the possession of a 906 and a P750 to share the shed with the 907. I have finally got around I starting them up and getting them all serviced and all the other good things to make them work. The 750 is now in numerous pieces, but is a runner. The one thin...

Re: Oils ain't oils?

Huh , oils may be getting more expensive ..... but so are engine parts and mechanic's labour . Motorbike engines are a bit different to cars in that they have the gearbox running in the same oil .....which "wears" out the oil faster , so service intervals need to be a bit shorter than car...

Oils ain't oils?

Hi everyone. After a number of years, I have now managed to reunite all 3 bikes in one corner. So the 750, 906 and 907 are now sharing the same shed since coming into my possession. So first thing on the long list is servicing the 3 bikes. Belts are a doddle. Either OE belts and hand over my first b...

Re: Fuel pump holder 82910112a

Hi. This maybe a little bit late, but the fuel pump in my 907 crapped itself after the bike was in storage for about 6 months. I got a complete kit from this crowd, which included the pump, the rubber mount and the plastic plate that clips it all into place. They are: http://www.euromotoelectrics.co...

Re: Lithium Batteries

Hi Stiv. I haven't had a lot of experience with Lithium batteries, but they are going to be the battery of the future. Assuming the resources can be found etc. They are smaller, lighter and can be pretty much taken to dead flat and they will make a come back to life when recharged. A lot of the equi...

Re: Instrument panel screen

Hi Everyone. I have purchased the whole dash assembly from Italspares in Adelong (Australia). Ian Gowanloch runs the show, and yes, he is the same person who started up Gowanloch's in Sydney. Ian sold up a long time ago, but the company kept his name. Italspares do have various bits and pieces of co...

Re: Plug identification?

Inductive pickups for the Ignition possibly? The wiring (2 wires in each) that goes into the loom will have an orange and grey/black wire in one and violet/black and yellow/blue in the other. Labelled 33 and 34 in the wiring diagram. Don't mix them up. Engine won't run or run really badly if it does...

Hi Bas.

Great looking collection. Hope you find happy homes for them all.

Now if you include postage to Australia, (and the headaches of importing to the big brown land), the Anthracite would be sold!

Cheers.

Nick.

Re: $100 907ie

So I replaced all of the fuses in the fuse box and on the two fused relays. I cleaned all the connections I could find and still no start. However, I did disconnect the wire to the solenoid and it gets 8V which is exactly what I was getting at the plug going to the fuel pump at the bottom of the ta...

Re: 907ie wiring modification confusion

Great stuff, Nick. Can you confirm the wiring of the relay is as shown in the last image and not the one in the actual 907ie file? Hi Bill. If it was me, I would connect the 12v to Pin 30 and have the switched 12v on Pin 87. http://www.desmodemon.com/paso_project_5.html It will work the way it is, ...

Re: 907ie wiring modification confusion

Hi Bill. The relay is going in to take the load (current) off the ignition switch. The contact of the ignition switch cops the brunt of it, with everything except the starter current going through them. I don't known what the current rating of the switch contact is, but they were designed and built ...
