Re: FARTINESS CURED

Hi Giocast We checked the exhaust with a probe and altered the adjuster screws which are on the right hand side of the bike until we got what my friend regarded as an improvement. He expected a certain level on his readout screen and one cylinder was below par. So we made them more equal in terms of...

Re: FARTINESS CURED

FARTINESS CURED. Turned out one of the cylinders was running lean. Took it to a friend who did an injector balance richard, was that injector balance, or injector clean...i dont think you can change the injector parameters on the 907 :dunno: in any case good to see the bike is going well again :thu...

FARTINESS CURED

FARTINESS CURED. Turned out one of the cylinders was running lean. Took it to a friend who did an injector balance. Found out later that the compression was a little down but it was even on both cylinders. Still it pulls fine and the great thing is the bike is now composed in traffic.

Re: FARTS AROUND TOWN

Thank you Bertus. I am visiting a local man who recently rebuilt his 907 only to have a van driver run into the back of him and wreck the bike. Bike is dead - man is ok. He thinks he can help tune the bike. I'll let you know.

ducbertus wrote:Hi Richard,

can you be some more specific about the farting? is it worse after feeding her with onnions or garlic?
please tell us about the revs. when it occurs, speed, gear, opening the throttle or closing.
does it die completely or is just one leg missing?

Bertus

Re: FARTS AROUND TOWN

BERTUS...The farts appear at low revs and when I am negotiating traffic or slow turns. On a rising throttle all is well.

Re: FARTS AROUND TOWN

Thanks fellas. I gunked off the oil and ran the bike for over 20 mins in my garage. No oil leaked but maybe a bit more pressure from a ride out would be a different story. Thanks for the tips Derek. I'll investigate.

FARTS AROUND TOWN

Hi Guys My 907 has a restored top end performance courtesy of a new fuel filter but still farts around town. It does have a sporty exhaust (carbon cans) fitted but the previous owner said it had been ecu'd etc. The bike starts easy and ticks over fine. Just stripped off the bodywork and noticed that...

Re: PETROL TANK PUMP AND FILTER

I changed the filter in mine at the start of the year, it's not too difficult Richard. It's best done with the tank near empty. Undo all the screws retaining the filler cap and remove it along with the rubber gasket, this will give you reasonable access. You should now be able to undo the clips on ...

TOP END CURE

Hi Guys I got helpful advice when I reported the lack of go with my 907. It was reluctant to exceed 90mph or so. Streetfighter man suggested I look at my fuel filter so I changed that (£15 on ebay). Also at the suggestion of my local bike dealer, GP motorcycles of Pontyprydd I added some Forte fuel ...
