Re: Positioning of pick up sensors
Thanks very much guys, Just confirmed my suspicions, the manual stated to find TDC on the vertical cylinder but i noticed when the dots lined up on the camshafts the horizontal cylinder seemed to be at TDC, i couldn't get the dots to line up using the vertical cylinder. Yes i meant the ignition cont...

The guys i bought the regulators from recommended the 440 ohm type. My question ...

Re: 1988 750 sport pickup sensor
Just answered my own question, ordered the 400 ohm pickup sensors which were the same physical size as the old ones, soldered them to the original cables (they are polarity sensitive) followed the wiring chart provided by the seller bike started first time and runs well !

Re: Where to get tank silent blocks
I just made my own with a 30mm long piece of hydraulic hose, cut almost in half leaving just the tube wall thickness uncut, then insert it into the tank holes from the inside not the outside, stainless washer top and bottom and there you go! Bobs your mothers brother !

Re: Electrics help please?
Mine did the same thing, although yours looks different to mine under the seat, mine has 2 X CDI's, I found an 8 pin connector in a black rubber boot under the handlebars on the right hand side that was a bad connection, used some contact cleaner to clean the pins and voila she was all good again, i...

1988 750 sport pickup sensor
Hi Guys, Got a faulty pickup sensor, done all the diagnosis as recommended in other posts as well as measuring resistance across each sensor, 100 ohms and pulsing on turning her over, versus open circuit and no pulse on the faulty pickup, tested it all the way up to the 2 joiners right at the sensor...

Re: 750 sport dropped the primary drive sprocket
Thanks for that G, i did tell them it was for an 88 and they treated me like i was some sort of poor cousin. I'll have another go ! Thanks for the clarification on that washer, i was starting to get worried imagining the sprocket chewing out the engine casing. Ha ha Hamish was more likely an excess ...

Re: 750 sport dropped the primary drive sprocket
I'm beginning to think that the schematic might be a bit misleading, i cant see any need for a washer there either, it also doesnt show the bearing and seal that sits in the gearbox housing behind the sprocket, maybe the washer in the schematic is actualy inside the gearbox behind the bearing and se...

Re: 750 sport dropped the primary drive sprocket
Many Thanks Hamish and Paso 750, you were spot on Hamish, i have stripped the outer ring, wow thats one to check on your bikes guys, never thought that might happen. Guess i'll have to buy the sprocket and ring as they probably come as a pair, as for the washer maybe its set into the engine casing r...

750 sport dropped the primary drive sprocket
Took the old girl (750 sport) out for a spin today with my young nephew on the back, got 200m up the road when the bike lost drive from the main drive shaft, found the front sprocket (see photo attached) on the road about 50m away but nothing else, the sprocket looks okay, the splines dont seem to e...
