Re: I got this PASO frame...
I say if you want to then just do it. The worst she can do is leave.....actually that doesn't even sound that bad. Least then you could move the bikes into the house to work on so you don't have to walk as far. Probably get the special done in record time then. Mind you a Paso is not the sort of bik...

I'm not a fan of most of these stripped back sports bike builds but that one actually comes up pretty well.....except for the balloon tyres.

Re: 750 Sport Exhaust Choice
Where are you located. There's a guy I know here in Gympie (Qld) that does mufflers for all sorts of classic bikes as well as exhaust mods for all bikes. He has been making replica Contis right down to the original baffle hole design and does reverse megaphones of all sorts. Not sure whether he can ...

Sorry I forgot you New Zealanders are so far behind the rest of the world. You probably haven't read about them yet.Mc tool wrote:The what ?
Apparently sometime before the era of the fuel injected Supersort Ducati made some other interesting bikes.

Re: New Ducatis not so reliable.
It's surprising the new breed that know very little about ducatis history. I was surprised the number of guys on ducatims that knew nothing about the Supermono.

Re: Gasoline within Oil / Gasoline Pipe questions
I thought the restrictor went in the fuel feed after the "y" splitter to actually reduce the flow to the carb.

Re: rescued duck ready for spring
Although I do prefer the red I'm not sure why that has to be "the" colour, considering if you Go back through Ducatis history there are some classic/iconic bikes that were orange, silver, yellow, silver/blue to name a couple.

Re: 1989 900 Supersport running on one cylinder
The other tried and true method of testing the spark is to hold onto the plug, that way there is no possibility of it igniting any loose fuel from the cylinder. Father in law and I used to get the mother in law and wife to help us test the spark on his old Ariels. They did it more times than I think...

Re: 1989 900 Supersport running on one cylinder
As Hamish has said check the spark situation. If that is fine then maybe a blockage on one side of the carb given it was low on fuel. Could have sacked something into a jet for the front pot.
Oh no cdi's to swap on this one. The 900 runs the Digiplex same as the Paso.

Re: 1989 900 Supersport running on one cylinder
Isn't that blue wire the earth wire for the reg/rec. Also why would the split fuel "Y" be a possible cause for running on 1 cylinder. Sure for running out of fuel but the float bowl isn't segregated between carb throats is it (I haven't pulled one apart for years), hence I would not expect...

Nice but seems a lot of effort to turn around and scrimp on the last $50.

Re: LED warning lights
G, the square edged LED's don't fit the T5 holders but not sure if they don't fit in the contacts or just that they are too wide just under the LED. I linished a wedge point on the bottom and found they still didn't fit as they were hitting on the shoulder just under the LED. So I linished the sides...
