Re: 900/750 ss/monster inlet manifolds

Sorry guys, the intake I cut up for my 750S was from an early 90's 900, not an early 2000 750. :banghead:

Re: 900/750 ss/monster inlet manifolds

I'm fairly new to the 750, so I can't comment on the stamping. All I know is that I took an intake from a early 2000 750, cut it up in 3 pieces, got it re-welded, put it on, and the bike is finally running well.

Re: 1990 750 Sport rear hugger

The Michelin tires on there are 10 years old. The rubber is pretty hard, and they don't inspire any confidence when I push the bike, even just a little bit. My plan is to try a new set of Shinko tires when I sort out all the mechanics. Thanks for the feed back guys 8)

Re: 1990 750 Sport rear hugger

Just cut up a rear hugger from a newer 750, to fit my 1990 750. I don't think it looks any better then the original. Any opinions? :D

Re: 1990 750 Sport rear hugger

Thank you both, for the info. and the pictures. Phil, I see why people remove them now. It is not the greatest looking rear hugger out there. Because my bike is already not very original looking, I think I'm going to try to make a hugger from another Duc. I'm going to start with the one off my 2006 ...

1990 750 Sport rear hugger

Hello all,
Does anybody out there know where I can find a rear hugger/fender for my 750. Some pictures of it would also be nice. Mine is missing and I really don't have a very clear idea what it looks like. Also, is it interchangeable with any other Ducs.
Thanks

Re: 1990 750 Sport fork oil

Thanks Peter
My local shop said to use 5W and I thought I should use at least a 10W like my othe bikes.
However, he said you get better feel using 5W because it's thinner and starts working faster. I don't know if this is true, but I'll give it a shot and see how it works out.

Re: 1990 750 Sport fork oil

Thanks G. I did see the 150mm airgap, and just wanted to confirm that was still holding true these days.

1990 750 Sport fork oil

Thinking about replacing my fork oil, so I need a little help deciding how much oil to buy to refill both of my forks. Also wanted to know if you guys are running 5wt oil on your bikes. And, does anybody know exactly how much oil goes in each fork?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: 1990 750 Sport clutch

Sorry I forgot to mention that I had to use my old outer thick one sided steel/friction plate. As far as the steel plate tooth count it's the same. When I called Barnett they did not list a kit for the older 750s. However kit#306-25-40002 fits a lot of Ducs. with dry clutches, like the 748, 750S, 85...

Re: 1990 750 Sport clutch

I don't know anything about these two other brands. All I can tell you, is that I just installed a Barnett kit on my 1990 750 Sport and it's shifting very well. I bought the kit on eBay for $170 USD, including shipping. I was a little worried because the Barnett kit was so cheap competed to the Surf...

1990 750 Sport clutch

Just joined a couple of days ago, and this is my first attempt at a post. I have a question about Barnett clutches. Has anybody used the Barnett kit#306-25-40002 on a '90 750 sport.
If yes, how does it compare to the Surflex brand. Thanks :)
