Re: Low voltage, charging system questions
Roger all of that Higgy. I have gone through the FAQ a fair bit. I was never able to find a 750 sport wiring diagram. I believe the one I have in the manual is for the Paso. If you're talking about taking the bottom cover off the ignition switches, I did do that. Looked okay, however, we did find a ...

Re: Low voltage, charging system questions
Thanks Higgy, I'll keep trying. I idid bypass the ignition switches with a relay. Will look at kill switch and the link.

Low voltage, charging system questions
So the saga continues. Finally hooked up a volt meter to battery to look at the voltage while riding. I leave the house with 13.5V and while riding it drops and remains at 14.26 or so. It occasionally does not spark, cutting out the motor for a second then it is back running again. The bike had a ne...

Re: rough running (it's ignition!).
looks like I got it going again strong. Put a relay to bypass the ignition switches. All hail to the forum!

Re: rough running (it's ignition!).
Checking it. Going to try the ignition relay mod. In the ignition switch, we found a voltage drop from 13V to 11V on one wire. That does not sound like a design feature.

Re: fuel pump, rough running.
Ok brothers, narrowed my cutting out to the ignition. No brainer probably, but, it seemed like that. Anyway, cleaned all contacts going to digiplex. Checked resistance to what I thought was the flywheel pickup, which was 770 ohms. One manual said 220 ohms and the other 150 maybe? The manual shows du...

Re: fuel pump, rough running.
Can I put a nipple in this screw hole (where blue arrow is pointing at the screw) and use that as the pulse vacuum?

Re: fuel pump, rough running.
Update, is this nipple the vacuum line from the carb?
Each carb has this nipple, this one just has a hose that goes to the bottom of the bike like a drain. The other carb's nipple has no hose. If those are the vacuum lines, I think I can figure this out.- Mon Feb 23, 2015 3:40 pm

Re: fuel pump, rough running.
Okay, I took up dirt bike racing and got a little lost on getting my 750 Sport running well again. I bought a Mikuni dF52136 vacuum fuel pump. mikuni pump.JPG I now realize I have no idea how to install it. I have the dual DellOrtos. There is a cap screw sticking out of each of my intake manifolds (...

Re: alternative fuel pump
So how do these vacuum pumps work? Where is the negative pressure draw coming from? I might have to try this. Did you just make a bracket and attach the pump to your frame? Ps i have the 750 Sport.

Re: fuel pump, rough running.
Testing theories now. No work done, filled tank and ran it hard on a short ride in 5 degrees. No backfires - might actually be lack of fuel pressure below half tank. Will get to float bowls and filter soon as i can, stay posted...

Re: fuel pump, rough running.
I'll start with float bowl and petcock. It seems more fuel than spark but who knows. Good excuse to buy some new Dyna coils, but I didn't think coils usually went bad. I know wires and caps do. Whatever it is, it happens for a split second then it's gone and back to running strong. It might cough a ...

rough running (it's ignition!).
I bought my 750 sport with the fuel pump removed. It seemed to run fine. After more time and longer trips, it started popping or cutting out, resulting in an instant power loss and flaming backfires t jg en straight back to running fine. I was thinking that the carbs started getting fouled but more ...
