Better buy that thing! What a great piece of history. It looks in good shape too.

Re: Coolant Loss Mystery

I spent a couple of hours on the 907 today as it was yet again not riding weather with the rain and cold temps. Seattle is not riding heaven! I removed all the bodywork, started the ol' girl up and let it idle for about half and hour. In that length of time, the thermostat opened and the fan kicked ...

Re: Burned Exhaust Valve

Yes indeed I do Derek. TPS. Thanks. Hey, you are the Scrambler guy from Scotland. I suspect most of us are a bit obsessive. I'm not alone in trying to pack my garage full of Ducatis.

Re: Switch Nut?

Same idea but different size. Meant to be tightened by fingers only just like on a presta valve inner tube stem.

Re: Burned Exhaust Valve

Sorry Tamburinifan as I have not answered your question from some time ago. I do not have any pics but can remember the Power Commander V hook up. It is very simple really. The PCV comes with two injector leads which plug directly onto the two injector heads. The stock injector leads are removed, th...

Re: Switch Nut?

Okay cool. This is hugely helpful, thanks! BTW what's your tag? I have ordered a total of 4, I'm happy to send you 2 once they show up here and you let me know where to send them.

Cheers

Re: Coolant Loss Mystery

Hey thanks McTool for your ideas. So I will check it out. One thought is to ride it, get it up to temp and then park it in the driveway and check more intently. Probably remove the bodywork. Is there any way coolant could be leaking into the stator side without raising the oil level? It sounds as if...

Coolant Loss Mystery

After some years of trying to figure out a few issues my 907 is back finally for some great riding. I have noticed though, a drop in coolant level after riding. Perhaps going through roughly 8 ounces per 200 miles. Although according to the temp gauge, the bike rarely reaches the halfway mark and th...

Re: Coolant leak

Josep It may be the pink is some kind of anti-seize as you say the tube is aluminum and the sensors are either steel or brass? There looks to be a crush washer for the sensors so torque value is probably low. I have had the tube out of my bike but could not break loose the sensors as I thought they ...

Re: I wonder how many survive

I have no accurate idea how many survive in the States but at the local bike meeting once a month in Seattle, out of the 300 or so bikes that show up, I have not seen one other than mine. But about 4 years back on a 4 day ride with friends, in the middle of absolute nowhere, eastern Oregon, while I ...

Re: Switch Nut?

Thanks Mctool. I have tried looking into auto switches but so far nothing. A bike breaker is my next stop. Funny how these $.50 pieces can cause such frustration. I figured if it is just unobtainable, I'd have my machine shop make me one, for about $75!

Switch Nut?

This is driving me crazy. I've managed to lose the thumb nut that retains the trip meter reset cable to the dash panel. Does anyone have a spare they could sell me or tell me where on the earth I can find one? I believe it is a 14mm x 1mm. It is the switch nut that is low profile and generally tight...

Re: fuel pressure regulator

I bought one for a more modern Ducati, I think it was from an 848? The critical thing is that it maintains the proper pressure, which I believe is 3 bar, and it fits into the general space allotted. My local Ducati dealer got me set up with one that has worked fine. I am figuring you have a 907ie. S...

Re: Need new fuel pump for my 907IE

I bought one from my local auto parts store for $38. It is a bit smaller than stock so would need to be adapted to fit into the rubber ring that secures the pump into the tank itself. The critical thing is that it runs 3 bar pressure. Less than that and I would think there will be fueling trouble. T...
