1991 907ie for sale in Michigan

1991 Ducati 907ie. 1 owner. Clean title. Mostly original/stock. 24,000 miles, most of them put on in the first four or five seasons. I bought a 900ss in 1995 and the 907 hasn't been ridden much since. The 900 is long gone but other bikes have followed, the 907 was last ridden/registered in 2008. Mai...

Re: Rear turn signal source - stock or euro lens

fuel leak is probably a rusty tank leak, after sitting up that long, that is why my tank is black! I know there is a small crack where the front mount is welded on, so that may have gotten worse. I doubt it's rust though. Water settles to the low spots and it only leaked when running. Also, I alrea...

Re: VIN Decode Model Year Doesnt Match Sticker on Frame

I've always heard that the '93 models were simply left over '92s so I'm guessing at some point your bike was registered based on the date of manufacture instead of the model year. It's not at all uncommon for the model year and year of manufacture to be different, though it's usually the other way a...

Re: Rear turn signal source - stock or euro lens

Sweet! I stumbled onto a link for ECS regarding some other parts and figured I'd check for turn signals while I was there. BINGO! They have some rear turn signals in stock (according to their website). I placed the order tonight, hopefully all is well and I'll end up with a new set. I ordered two in...

Rear turn signal source - stock or euro lens

I decided today was the day. Time to pull my 907 out of it's slumber. I looked and it hasn't been registered since 2008, so its been sitting for at least that long... Long story short, when I was moving it I must have caught the right side rear turn signal on something and broke it off of it's stalk...

Re: 907IE Radiator Hoses

I plan on pulling my 907 out of it's long slumber this weekend and beginning the rehab to get it back on the road. In checking out the website I don't see black as a color option?

Re: european 907?

I'm pretty sure that in 1991 Euro bikes had a 13 digit VIN while US bikes had a 17 digit VIN.

Re: What battery do you have?

When I need a battery for my 907 I take it to my local Harley dealer and let them match it up with an AGM for a... Softail? I'm not sure what mopdel it is, but it's an AGM and costs about $70 (2-3 years ago). Exact same size as the stock battery. Much more robust than a flooded acid type battery. I ...

Re: New 906 owner needs gas, fuel suggestions for the U.S.

...Time has no bearing on compression ignition cycles,it is simply a matter of pressure. pressure causes knock. Temperature only plays a part in that it raises pressure when the volume is constant or decreasing, again Boyles law. Oh, but time does have a bearing on it, as do pressure AND heat. BTW ...

Re: New 906 owner needs gas, fuel suggestions for the U.S.

Written by Racetech, Inc. - reproduced with permission ...Fuel Characteristics Low compression engines usually run well on low octane fuel because they have relatively low charge densities and the burn rate within these confines is usually predictable. A low compression engine switched to 118-octan...

Re: New 906 owner needs gas, fuel suggestions for the U.S.

Now as to whether high octane fuel burns slower than low octane fuels I offer up the following. Knocking is caused by the rapid explosive and INCOMPLETE burning of vaporized fuel ahead of the normal flame front. High octane fuels have chemicals added to them to make the fuel vaporizing occur at a m...

Re: New 906 owner needs gas, fuel suggestions for the U.S.

And THIS has me really confused: Quote: Two plugs, two flame fronts propagating burning the complete charge faster not faster flame propagation Why confused? Two plugs, you ignite the fuel at two points in the charge, each point propagates at the same speed but the entire charge gets burned in half t...

Re: New 906 owner needs gas, fuel suggestions for the U.S.

BTW, Boyles law has everything to do with internal combustion engines in this universe, ICE's after all use air to provide the force that moves you and I down the road to our destination. The fuel is simple the agent that heats the air causing it to expand. It is the mechanical properties of the eng...
