Re: battery suggestions?

Oh, absolutely. I meant I'll have to ditch the battery, not move the reg. :)

Re: battery suggestions?

Oh no, they help alright. Thanks :) I see you don't have your R/R mounted on the two brackets welded to the frame in front of your battery. It's those that stop me getting the battery in (the battery has to go in at an angle because it's slightly wider and it hits the bolts that hold my reg on). I t...

Re: battery suggestions?

Would you be able to do me a favour and send a picture by any chance? Is your regulator/rectifier mounted in front of your battery? Mine is so I can't insert the battery at an angle without it hitting the bolts that hold the regulator.

Re: battery suggestions?

I just tried to put a motobatt Mb16au in my 89 750 sport to replace my YB16AL-A2. The motobatt is about 2mm thicker and flat out doesn't fit in my bike. Maybe I could bend the regulator mounts and force it in but I'd have a hard time changing the regulator if I did so. Just FYI.

Re: Carmo "replacer" units?

Haha. Yeah, she's not cheap by any stretch. But i think mine might be playing up. I have a lot to check off before I'm sure and there's a lot of posts here to help me with that, so that's not a conversation for here. I'm just trying to see what my replacement options are if I have to go that route.

Re: Electrics help please?

Thanks mate. I'm inclined to agree with you. The relay could be failing too. Am I right in assuming that the relay on the left with the plastic lid is non standard? I guess it doesn't matter if it is or not, it just needs to work :). But I'd be keen to know either way.

Re: Gen warning light always on?

Not even close? Care to elaborate and help me out a bit here? I would've thought 14v is good. It doesn't go much more than .1 or .2 higher. Not high enough to lead me to suspect a regulator issue. Unless I've been misled on the optimal voltages but that's what I have found mentioned on these boards ...

Electrics help please?

Hi, My 89 750s has an odd issue. When it's cold the electrics will cut out entirely. No power at all. The starter does not work and the lights in the dash go out. Leave it a few seconds and it comes to life again and the starter fires her up fine. I had the seat off looking at the wiring and noticed...

Re: Gen warning light always on?

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I checked the charging voltage. 12-13v at idle and 14 or a bit more at 5k rpm. That seems fine. After that the light has gone out. Odd, but all good I guess.

Gen warning light always on?

Hi, My battery dash light is always on. It's a new bike so I'm not sure if this is new or an old issue. I've got a few things to check today; standard charging system diagnostics. In the meantime I was looking at the 750sport and 750paso workshop manuals and they both say this: Gen. Warning light. I...
