On the Dellorros, not designed for fuel pump. Gravity fed. and yes, it did have a y. after removing, it ran great. Searching numbers..... evidently there were 50 "upgraded" models in 1988 both Calif. and non Calif (U.S.A) models. Mine does have the "gold" valve covers (pic below)...
