This is very interesting! I've spent a lot if time with dellortos on guzzis, so like you I understand them well.

Previous owner also put the starter through a relay, I'm assuming this bypasses the ignition switch?

When I have a bit of time I'll trace everything and get familiar with it. If needs be I'll rewire it but I think the last guy probably knew what he was doing

Thank for the advice! I'm reasonable mechanically and not scared of effort, I have a guzzi California 2 that I use to explore gravel roads in northern Ontario, bits fall off that all the time. Electrically the previous owner has run fresh grounds for most of the circuits and its stopped blowing fuse...

Cheers guys, Have had a search around and yes all my questions have been asked and answered before :) My 906 is from 1990, its red, I don't think previous owner was a member here but maybe. I got it from eBay the auction didn't meet reserve..... I thoroughly enjoy this bike. Its my first older ducat...

I just bought a 906

Hello everybody, I'm the proud and happy owner of a 1990 paso 906. Its cosmetically a bit rough and mechanically needs a bit if TLC but its all there, even has the original silencers. I picked it up 2 days ago in Birmingham and it only broke down once on the way home to London! Battery light came on...
