Re: 907 parting out.

Nick beat me to it, I also think it's one of these sensors that is gone.

Re: Another New 907ie owner, and inevitable questions

Funny though, as there isn't really one spot the butterfly's go to when the throttle is released. Its a bit random at times, depending on how hard you pull on the throttle before release. That vagueness on the throttle valve closing has always wondered me as well, never found a solid solution for i...

Re: Bike Stalls Once Warm and over 5500 RPM

Perhaps a bit late but your problem might be the cam position sensor or the speed sensor failing due to age. After a while they heat up by the engine, and due to age they start failing. If one of these sensors (they are in the alternator cover) fails, the engine will stop dead because it does not kn...

Re: Another New 907ie owner, and inevitable questions

The pump cutout when the engine is not running is indeed standard progamming, nothing to worry. When you set up the TPS at 150 mV, did you fully unscrew the screws of both valves, or only one? I know that often one of them is forgotten, and since the valves are connected via the sync screw, a dead s...

Re: 907 parting out.

I don't have a chip available but should have the mapping as a file. If you can find someone that can burn eproms, I can mail you the file so you have an eprom made. A few years ago the eproms were still available from Ducati. Can't imagine it is a fast moving part, so perhaps your lucky there. Pric...

Re: Oil level and sticker (again)

The 2 oil level lines have nothing to do with the engine being hot or cold, and has also nothing to do with measuring oil levels on the side stand or whatever. The decal with the upper oil mark at the bottom was used for a while by Ducati on several models because they had problems with oil staying ...

Re: Replacing starter sprag clutch

That sprag clutch looks quite worn to me as well, not only on the single part. You cannot test it properly by hand, since the acting forces during a real start are much greater than what you can accomplish by hand. I've seen perfect working sprags fail after a head rebuild and new piston rings, wher...

You're not far off.

Only 100 white Paso's were produced, in 1987. 50 for the US, 50 for Europe.

Re: 907ie Engine in another DUCATI FRAME......a Question

Indeed all 2V belt engines have the same footprint but are machined differently according to frame type and bike brand (re. Cagiva Elefant and Gran Canyon etc.). With some shimming and or grinding / milling work it is not impossible. You're from Manchester are you? Than go see Italsport in Bury and ...

Re: Can we get a new manufacturer for 16" tires???

I know I am now going to be considered as a blasphemist, but what about checking into the possibilities (both financial and (more important) technical, of recovering used tires with a new surface? I have sufficient technical background to be serious in this. Although I have no first hand experience ...

Re: P-Line Eprom to ST4 for sale

The 900ie originally has the big valve 900SS heads. The later carburetted 900's have the smaller valved Monster heads. I was told by Roy Armstrong from Italsport, UK (Ducati dealer and Elefant Guru :) ) that this modification works good with a 907 chip. Off course exhaust and air filter cover should...

Re: P-Line Eprom to ST4 for sale

Hi Finnpaso, Actually that makes sence. The injectors from the Elefant have approx. 58% less flow than those from the 907, and it is equipped with camshafts from a 750. So installing a 907 eprom does not make sence in this standard bike. However, we have modified one with 900SS cams and 907 injector...

Re: P-Line Eprom to ST4 for sale

These eproms are sold by Motorradgeschaft Vier-Takt Studio Ducati Rainer Hilsenbek in Konstanz, Germany. Actually I am currently mailing with him about getting a standard 907ie mapping to finally put in our first modified 900ie Elefant with 900SS cams and 907 injectors. However the email communicati...

Thanks for the info, I'll update the Webcon part no. on the Elefant's EFI website as soon as possible. There is already a link to the Webcon website over there, so adding contact info is not necessary. @ Laddie: You cannot steal any info from that website :D , it is there to take. And guess where I ...

Re: speedo drive

I had a similar problem on the speedo drive of my 350 Elefant a few years back (similar drive). I was able to weld the notch back on the ring, and thoroughly cleaned and greased the inner parts. I was not able to disassemble it completeley but the ring came off. I put everyting back together but als...
