Re: Cleaning/Maintenance of stock exhaust pipes on Paso 750

Francesco, If the mufflers have the same "black chrome" finish that my 750 has, they should clean up nicely with the 0000 grade steel wool. Try starting someplace you won't easily see first just to make sure the cleaned area looks good to you. If you check out my posting titled "Eye C...

Re: Cleaning/Maintenance of stock exhaust pipes on Paso 750

Horse, My mufflers had, in some areas but not all over, very small spots of rust beginning to form. I had success polishing these sposts out with "0000" grade (4 zeroes) steel wool. The steel wool is oil impregnated on so it doesn't rust on the store shelf and that impregnation seems to be...

Re: Eye Candy

Hi All, Thanks for your compliments; it's nice to know all my elbow grease was worth it. Here's my story on her: I've had this Paso since 1994 but in 2004 a fuel hose dry-rotted and sprang a leak. I was in the process of moving for a new job at the time and so I neglected to repair it right away. On...

Eye Candy

I am posting these for the first time so I hope I get the links correct. Anyway, these photos are of my '88 Limited taken a few weeks ago. It is completely original except for the Corbin seat, Pro Italia bar risers and Dellorto carbs. Also has the larger diameter "offroad only" Silentium p...

Re: Stripping Marzocchi rear shock

I've disassembled mine to thoroughly clean it but never to the damper internals; I guess that's what you need to know right? If you just want to disassemble the spring, collar nuts, gas body, etc., you can remove the load on the spring by loosening the collar nuts. First use a caliper to measure the...

Paso Instrument Cluster Rubber Mounts

I recently had to replace the flexible rubber supports for my 750 Paso instrument cluster and I came across this source. No affiliation here, just another parts source for all those little things. Prices are reasonable and customer service is good. Cool website too. http://shop.bevelheaven.com/detai...

Re: New 906 owner needs gas, fuel suggestions for the U.S.

Wow, that's quite a read.....and now the complete layman's recommendation (mine) for what to use in the 906; go with the highest octane you can buy and stay away from the pings. My old beemers run much better on higher octances and they ping like hail on a tin roof if the octane is below 90. Remembe...
