Thanks for the reply's..., can anyone confirm the correct oil filter? is p/n 44440035A correct? i.e. this one. eBay item number:171488938201. i did ask and they said; I cannot say for sure as Ducati only provide us with parts info for models manufactured from 1991 onward.

Think ill give the Sport a oil change next week seeing as i have some free time (hopefully) can you recommend the correct viscosity oil, any recommendations....... Filter etc?..

Hi Steve. Sounds like the starter solenoid is short circuit when warm, or at least a little sticky in action. Once you disconnect the battery it cools down and drops out.
