Re: 750S Brought back to Life

Very nice project. What forks did you use? I have got hold of some 17 inch wheels from a 600ss for my 750 sport. I may just go ahead with this mod initially. As posted elsewhere I think my only issue is machining a slice out of the original forks to get the speedo drive in. Again as previously poste...

Kokusan rubber holder

I’m in need of a pair of the rubber holders for the kokusan ignition boxes. The two I picked up on eBay as part of my project to get this 750 sport up and running did not have them. Are there any generic holders that could work. Don’t really want them flapping around in the tray they sit on. Last re...

750 F1 fairing on 750 sport

Subject says it all really. My 750 sport does not have a fairing and I don’t like the original version (swoops backwards at the bottom which seems wrong to me!). Anyone ever seen one with a 750 F1 type fairing? A little bit of re engineering would be OK- hopefully doable.
Thanks in advance

Hopefully photo attached. Those more wise on such matters will tell us if the top is standard or part of the maxton upgrade

Re: Fork upgrade 40mm MR1BB

Hi, I picked up a 750 sport about 6 months ago. A non runner but the forks (same as yours I think) had something done to them by a company called maxton. They are in Cheshire UK and are a suspension specialist. Contacting them would unleash the information you require as they have obviously done wor...

750 sport

Oh what have I gone and done now? Some may recall I have a 906 paso. Well I had the chance to pick up another project (a man cannot have too many projects - right?) so picked up this 750:sport. Not even sure I like 16 inch wheels!!!!!! Anyway, a few things wrong. No carb (picked up a 750 mikuni on e...

Re: Tyre Suppliers UK

Ok hopefully this may be of more use. I purchased a new set of Shinko tyres for the 906 about 2 years ago. The company was c&w performance in Bristol /Fulton. Googling them now I see they have changed their name to WSC performance. Definitely worth making contact if they are not advertising the ...

Re: Tyre Suppliers UK

Hi I changed my tyres about 2/3 years ago. There is a thread about it as I struggled to f8nd a uk source. I purchased them on line and had a local tyre place change them. I think the6 were maxis brand. They seem pretty good TBH and almost certainly better than the original tyre of 30 years ago!,

Re: Coil resistance

Looks like I'm having a conversation with myself but this may help others  . The rather hard polymer boot on the coil leads make lining up the over moulded connector difficult. A couple of times I thought I had made a good connection but when removing found the male terminals bent over!!! not g...

Re: Coil resistance

Great nudge in the right direction. I started to do some voltage drop tests and obviously started at the battery. The large + cable definatly had a worrying wiggle when gently fiddled with!!! When I took it out about 6 or more strands had fractured. Well that’s going to increase the resistance and e...

Coil resistance

Hi currently looking for the cause of no spark on the rear cylinder and going through FAQ and previous posts. Secondary resistance with the +/- tolerance comes to 3300-4070 both mine are 3470 ohm so all good. Primary with tolerance is 0.31-0.37 (2 significant figures) after subtracting the resistanc...

Another one being parted out

Fairly decent 906 being split up on uk eBay. Apparently running which is sad. Understand it makes sense for some bikes to be split as it allows others to live especially when there is a limited amount of spares available. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292280723465?ul_ref=https%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.c...

Finally giving up on the weber

Well after about year of messing around with the weber I'm giving up. I rebuilt the whole thing with new gaskets, installed a new fuelpump. Set the float height a number of times etc etc etc. Eventually I did start to have a bit of admiration for the weber when they were working but this took many h...
