Re: ST/SS wheels fit a 907ie?
Early SS and Monster wheels use the 17mm axles which are easy to swap out, but trying to use a wheel with a 25mm axle in a 17mm suspension will require some tricks to say the least. Not an easy swap. I just put a new Sport Classic wheel (25mm axle) on a 1990 Sport swingarm, (17mm) and there was some...

Re: front fender
or get a 907 fender and brace, or more rare, the first year 851 setup. They were made for a 17" front wheels, so they will have a bit more clearance. Of course, a couple of washers is much cheaper.

Re: 750 Sport restoration project
You can try some compressed air to pop out the tank. May work. Otherwise, search e-bay. Just did a quick search, and there is one in Lithuania for $500. Remember to search 900SS, as the last year of the Sport is a 900SS. I found one of those tanks several years ago that was new, and in the box. Ther...

Re: Full Adjustment for your M1BB forks!!
The kit looks really nice. Just can't quite justify the cost right now. But, if you are racing, or doing trackdays, its all well worth it.

Re: battery suggestions?
The R/R needs good airflow, as it gets hot. If you move it, make sure there is good airflow over it. Also make sure the case is grounded well.

Re: Best/recomended oil
I tend towards synthetics mostly. and change it once a year at least. Making sure your breather is working properly, and you take the bike for a nice long ride every once in while will help the oil live a longer life. Water accumulation is always a problem with motorcycle motors, so a good long ride...

Re: battery gel, care free or lion ion
I have had pretty good luck with the Oddessey gel batteries. Lasts over 5 years with a trickle charge. Regular batteries are generally good for 2 seasons or so, but work fine for their duration.
Can't comment on LiOn batteries with the older system.

Does the fuel pump in the 907 tank deliver adequate pressure to the newer ST2 injection system?

Re: Replacement coils...
On the original coils, the HT leads are not replaceable, and glued in place. At this age of the bikes, you should replace the coils and wires, as the stock ones are near death, and almost all of the aftermarket options out there will produce a bigger spark than the stock units. Coils die over time a...

That works too. A fairly cheap and reliable solution, that almost always works well.

Re: What obvious (to you) stops speedo drive spinning 90 900
Hmmm. My ST has a stop for the speedo drive. Not sure what is on the 907, which would be pretty close to what is on the 900 SS. I'll have to look.

Re: Swingarm shim size on left hand side???? 1990 900 supers
you can look at later SS series manuals, and it has basically the same set up, but a different diameter pin. General rule is to set the chain side to the stock size, and shim the right side to fit. If you can, fill the gap with 2 washers instead of 1, as it will make a better bearing. Grease them be...
