Re: Mikuni experts, your answers please...

Chris is confident the small pump will work.It should empty a Monster tank in less than 1 1/2hrs. I prefer the big pump for modified large motors and pumper carbs. I was going to use the small pump with CV carbs on a Paso, but my new bike plans are unfortunately on hold. Ducati still sell the big pu...

Re: Mikuni conversion, fueling question

The Mikuni will be good with the vacuum pump. The extra Watts will be good for your battery and starting. One pump is enough. I like being able to turn off the fuel tap overnight. Others will know if the Weber prefers a non pulse electric pump. Buy the oem inlet gaskets if you arent sure. I buy stoc...

Re: Mikuni conversion, fueling question

Many people with Monsters get rid of the vacuum operated fuel tap in areas where there is ethanol in the fuel. I'm not sure if that is the main reason, but on the Monster forum people generally get rid of them. They seem to fail by either jamming open or closed. Some failures flood the motor with fu...

Re: mikuni carb conversion?

LOL You're not kidding! So I just test-fit my Mikunis w/ the manifolds from a 900 and yes indeed, they are skewed clockwise (if you were sitting on the bike and looking down on the carbs). But they clear the frame, the pump bracket and everything else. So my next questions: What to do with the cran...

The Paso fit me like a glove. I spoke to a guy selling a 906 today. It's in very good condition if it has been represented correctly. Not sure, well see.

Re: Hi From Melbourne Australia.

My first ride on a Ducati was on a 907. A friend got it new from Moto Italiano back in the day. I found it very impressive. I have sat on a 906 and I was very impressed with the ergos for me. It's like buying a suit, very personal and individual. While the Elefant interests me greatly, I am only 5'8...

Re: mikuni carb conversion?

My apologies. You are right Paso 750. The 900 heads are taller and the manifolds would be a little different. Besides the airbox option, is the oem electric fuel pump going to be used? If the vacuum option was considere, say if someone had a crook oem fuel pump and wanted to go vacuum they would nee...

Ignitech for 906?

Is there an Ignitech available to replace the Digiplex in case of unrepairable failure? Would one have to fit Kokusan type ignition pick ups and flywheel, or would it be plug and play?

Re: Spanish Paso 750

You could start with a Factory Pro or Dynojet stage 2 jet kit for a 750SS. Follow the instructions in the kit to select jets and needle position for the style of air filter and exhaust on your bike. Just so you know, I am still learning about Pasos (and checking ebay to buy one from the US). I have ...

Re: Mikuni experts, your answers please...

Im looking for something that needs work, so not much! I need a project!. I have seen Pasos cost more than the ST2! I want to rebuild one and try stuff. I have a thing for the air cooled motor, but would be interested in a 906 with a dead motor as I would fit a 900Ss/M900 motor. I love the twin air ...

Re: Mikuni experts, your answers please...

Sounds a good plan. With pods and open mufflers, a baseline would be say 160-165main jets (170-175 DJ jets), needle where the kit tells you for open airbox and 40 slow/idle jets. Thats a good starting point. Since pods dont flow as well as a good open airbox, the 165/(175 DJ) jets might be too rich....
