I installed one of these on my 900ss a few years back:

Worked just fine, but needed to be wired in.

See here:

Make sure to push the piston ring down into the bore with the piston at least 1/2 way to make sure it's square.

Re: What sort of wheels are these?

The 900s came out with 16 inch wheels as well (as the 750) didn't they? Are these ones 17s off a later model? No. There´s no 900S even though it looked like the 750S. The 900 was already named SS. The 900 came standard with white 17" rims as did the 907ie and the 851. G. Didn't the 851 origina...

Re: JE psitons quality

They are very good pistons. Lots of racers and others use them. I think they are all forged.

Re: 750 Paso in the Barber Museum

Nice set of photos. Thanks for sharing. Someday I will get to Barber. Its a long ride across a lot of flat land to get there from the Left Coast. Is the last picture in your album a Ducati 500? Looks like a Ducati single hub, but two exhaust pipes. Cheers, Yes, it's a 500 GTV that was beautiful. I ...

750 Paso in the Barber Museum

I can't recall if this has been posted before. I was at the Vintage races & Ducstock this past weekend. I spent some time in the Barber Museum and was pleased to see the 750 Paso as one of the bikes on display. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-34H5EEPi9w8/TpcZjeYWynI/AAAAAAAAO2M/0xoBw0JMGi4/s8...

It seems your alternator wiring has melted in exactly the same interesting, chocolatey, way as mine.

Yeah, crappy connections and corrosion make for a high heat joint. It's all been fixed up tho.

I know Jim well and his F1 is sweet.

I'm not taking mine as it's fugly and there will be 50 museum level bikes there. The Indy is vintage and unique.

Re: charging system & those crazy wires

the alternator/stator one lead goes directly to the vertical coil ? are they feeding the coils direct and feeding back to the regulator after? The stator wires should not go to the coils. They should go to the regulator. The Paso is fitted with crappy electrics and needs a bit of care to get right....

Re: Starter solenoid

Any starter solenoid should work as long as it fits. It's just a BIG relay.
