Re: Help! Paso 750 l/h oil cooler

any thing can be made to fit ! I would try the local bike wreaker , looking for something roughly the right size and worry about the mounts later . the local hydraulic hose repair man may be able to make , or modify original hoses to fit . Brackets can be made ( 4mm ally plate )I have a friend who &...

Re: Starter motor brush plate and brushes

I needed new brushes for my 900ss (1997) and baulked at paying nz$80 for the parts so I went to the local auto sparky and got a pack of 4 brushes for 12 bucks . Each brush needed a swipe with a file to fit and a small soldering job to fit to the brush plate. Most auto sparkies can also supply a suit...

Re: I'm confused about tires

yeah there is a lot of confusion here. A I understand michelin are the only ones who make them in the correct sizes , 130/60/16 front and 160/60/16 rear I was originally told ( by a michelin retailler ) that the company only made the tyre in batches once a year, then I was told that they wern't goin...

sight glasses

Someone was asking about sight glasses for the oil level somewhere in this web site but buggered if I can find it now Anyhow What I did was to get an ordinary oil seal the correct diameter and cut the lips out of it , leaving just the outer ( rubber coated steel ) ring . I then pestered the local gl...

Re: 906 headlight conversion

What ? me wrong ? that would be a first ( ha ha ha ) the system is largely self ballancing in that if the load on the alt is say 150 watts then the alt only supplies 150 watts . All the loads in this system are in parrallel so the more stuff you switch on the lower the overall resistance of the circ...

Re: 906 headlight conversion

Hi Duckboy what you are looking for is a thing called "Ohm's law " This is a basic formula to calculate the watts , current flow ( measured in amps ) and the resistance ( to current flow, measured in ohms ) This formula can be transposed to calculate any of the components above Your altern...

electrical woes

My paso is a 1990 model 906 and when I bought it there was an interesting fault with the electrix , whilst riding , any increase in load on the electrical system ( turning on the lights , blinkers , brake lights or even the horn sometimes ) would result in a momentary loss of power accompanied by a ...

Re: 906 headlight conversion

I remember reading ( I can you know !) in a two wheels mag cicra 1990 that there is a hella light that can be fitted to the paso with little modification. The article even gave a part number ...... which I now cant find ( the wife is a very tidy person, in fact if you stand still to long in our hous...

Re: 160/60 x 16 tyre

There is an outfit in oz ( australia ) called Gowanloch motorcycles who recently supplied me 3 160/60/16 michelin tyres , and the guy there ( Troy ) didnt seem to think there was a problem getting them , which is not what all the dealers I contacted here in NZ told me . All up they cost me $ nz 420 ...

906 exhaust

I have been eyeing this cross shaped junction thing in the exhaust with some suspicion . Can any one tell me if this thing robs as much power as it looks as if it might ?Is it worth making up a "straight thru " system , with a cross over pipe ?

Re: Swing arm damage, can I weld it?

You certianly can get it welded, any sheet metal worker should be able to either mig or tig weld this ( you may have to do a bit of filing to finish the job off ).You will , of course have to remove the swing arm, sooooo I really hope the pivot bolt isn't rusted in as mine was
