Re: 906 Starts from Cold at Wide Open Throttle
Brakes ๐, when I got my Paso I thought the brakes were great if a little underpowered but good feel . In the wet I learnt that the 1st (sphincter tightening ) couple of rotations after grabbing a handful of brakes wipe the water off the discs then its business as usual. Then I got me a 1997 900ss de...

Re: vapor lock during summer riding
I would check the tank breather. Probly easiest to ride bike untill it stops and then quickly remove fuel cap . It should just open without any vacuum in the tank or sucking noises. Check the gause filter at the carb too I have seen crap build up untill it blocks this filter.Once fuel flow stops thi...

Re: 906 Starts from Cold at Wide Open Throttle
Re the idle screw, I was meaning that if the throttle shaft crank was not resting on the idle speed screw that the throttle may be sticking slightly open ........which would be evidenced by the crank not resting on the screw. Another thing to consider is that these engines dont carburett well at low...

Re: 906 Starts from Cold at Wide Open Throttle
8000 rpm with no load would only require the throttles to be open a wee bit ...so best make sure the throttle crank is resting on the idle speed screw. The choke also has an air bypass to act as a fast idle ( allows air thru the choke assy to mix with the extra fuel the choke provides , this extra a...

Re: Auxillary Venturis
Was not aware that the IDF version fit the DCNF......Good call  How do the tall vents work on the 750 setup ? Nah , me neither . Just seemed to obvious for no one not to mention it so far , specially as there were a few peeps poking around that area a while ago . ๐I do feel duty bound to add ...

Re: 750 vs 906 vs 907 dash
Hi Nick ,I bought a p750 dash as a spare and then realised that the 750 was oil cooled , soooo yeah I sure they are the same ๐๐. I figure that the measured temps , be they oil or coolant are going to be pretty much the same , oil may be 10โฐc hotter during normal use . I cant see Ducati making a whol...

Re: cam pulley
Not sure if the 916 pulleys are adjustable , but I go for adjustable as the factory cam timing is terrible . When I bought my 906 it had the rattle and like you it was a loose vert cyl cam pulley . The only real damage was flogging out the keyway a bit . I peined the damage back into shape on the ca...

Re: Muffler options
Yep ,I wrapped the inner tubes with stainless wool and mig wire , then fitted the outer sleeve and stuffed the outer area with fibreglass mat . As G sez above .....sorta, the tighter you pack the fibreglass in the noisier it will be but the packing will last longer ......happy medium sort of thing 8)

Re: Chain Adjusters - should they slide freely?
I guess its just one of them things you sometimes discover when you buy a used vehicle .......no control over its past owners actions. Bit of a pita but with a good o ring chain you wont be doing much adjusting . I met the previous owner of my Paso at a bike rally . He expressed surprise to see it s...
