Re: 750S Brought back to Life

Great job and excellent update interpretation of the style. I note that it has Mikuni TM carbs. Are they TM36 or 38's and are you happy with them? What jetting did you have to run with pod filters? I am thinking about putting a kit together for 750 and 900 desmos as an alternative to the v...

Re: Mikuni Carbs

If they are used Mikuni BDST38 carbs then the needle jets, also called emulsion tubes are likely to be ovaled out. The oem brass ones are soft and get sawed into by the needle. If they are brass coloured they are oem which dont last long. Slight ovalling lets a lot of extra fuel thru. Factory Pro ma...

Look up Patrick Burns FCR Tuning Guide. Should be a chart there on the needle codes.

Re: Gone to the FCR Side

Take into account we tuned for kangaroo fuel. Maybe it will help as a baseline. The pilot jets were a bit rich and we possibly could have used 55's or 58's, but a slightly rich pilot jet can be compensated for by opening the slow air jet screws a 1/4 to 1/2 turn (if the carbs came with them, they're...

Re: Gone to the FCR Side

If it's any help, a mate and I set up his M750 with open airbox with FCR39's. MJ 155, EMT needles #3, 60 pilot jets (you could try 55-58 sizes). Slow air screws were in the range of 1- 13/4 turns out from gently seated. Can't remember the idle mixture setting.
Good luck.

Re: Ignitech Sparker TCIP4 ignition?

I know of three 900 belt drives with the ignitech unit. I tuned/mapped each one (one is my own M900). They have all worked reliably. They are a fantastic and versatile unit. However, I also have heard of failures due to non resistor plugs. Sometimes voltage spikes caused by another electrical compon...

The blue looks modern and sharp, but the red and orange look classic. Which one do you prefer?
