Re: Front Brake Shudder

Repco should do, or a brake and clutch place. I assume it only happens with the front brakes applied? On cars, the mechanics machine the front brakes when they shudder. If they still shudder they machine the front brakes again. Most don't seem to realise on a car your brakes are all linked and if th...

Re: Front Brake Shudder

I would be inclined to take the rotors to a macine shop or brake shop and get them machined. Very cheap and you will know they are OK.

Re: Tyre options

I think the stopped for a little while in 2005 and then started again soon after. It is probably just an economical way to produce the tyres. Do a big batch every few years.

Re: clutch chatter?

Remove side cover and add grease to "mushroom" shaped part under side cover if it is the same as a 906. A good quality grease (outboard motor) is perfrect. In an emergency, I have used a drop of oil from the motor when I used a stick on the side of the road. I cleaned the stick first of co...

Re: Intro + opinions wanted

Johnny, Andrew-b thought the blue 906 was my bike, but it is not. I live north of Sydney in the same area that bike is for sale. The 906 definitely requires more attention than most bikes. The good thing is that by the time they have covered 50000km all the problems should have been fixed. The engin...

Re: 16" Wheels?

I think you must ride a bike to it's capabilties. I have a 906 with 16" wheels and a 906 with 17" wheels. They don't seem very different to me, although I must admit, I have only ridden the 17" wheels for 10km. I think the front tyre is the main problem...,change to a 130/70.16 and pr...

Re: Tyre options

I am currently using the Battlax BT-014. Although in the past they were called different names I think. They change their names more than I change my underwear! I am sure they don't change the tyre...only the advertising. This appears to be their best radial in that size, if you look at their web si...

I had the problem when my battery terminal worked loose. It took out my clock at the same time.

I couldn't agree more about the Pirelli, I've been saying it in posts for years, but I think the Bridgestone is even slightly better.

When I change the belts, I borrow the correct tool to remove the pulley net from my local bike mechanic. You also have to make sure the woodruff key that locates the pulley doesn't slip out of position when fitting the pulley. Make sure you do it with plenty of light. I normally get the mechanic to ...

All of the above are correct, but tyre pressure (I run 31 psi front, 36 rear) and correct fork oil and amount are also important. If your bike has the Marzocchi forks with the rebound dampening, try one click extra rebound. I found it perfect. Next is to throw away the Michelin front tyre and fit a ...

Keep checking the water level ...just like the rest of us! Even my mate with his ST2 and new Japenese regulator seems to be overcharging.

There must be a simple answer. Maybe an overflow tank, just like the radiator! That will be a good invention!

Lionell,

I went to the show and I think I remember seeing your bike. Good to see you flying the flag.

The show was quite good.
