Re: Frame number
.........like i have told you, in the motorcycle paper the manufacturing year is "87" and not 1987, is it common to see it like this? That is NOT a date indicating "manufacturing" , "Anno immatricolazione" means "registration year" it has absolutely nothing t...

Re: Frame number
The frame # is indicated as 750065, it seems a very early number to me, that would explain the 87 in the "anno di immatricolazione" field. What is wierd is the other date which should match the year "87" unless we are talking of a bike that was registered but not recorded, basica...

Re: Frame number
It should be indicated in the first Section of the logbook (should be a big paper folded in 6 parts printed front and back), at the bottom you should read few lines saying something like: CLASSE VEICOLO - MOTOCICLO PER TRASPORTO PERSONE FABBRICA/TIPO - DUCATI MECCANICA SPA / ZDM***** OMOLOGAZIONE - ...

Re: 1991 907ie No Spark! ... ECU, MAE tests?
Have you checked the Pickup? I would start from there; make sure it works and just in case check the distance from the flywheel "hump" is 0.6- 0.8mm I wonder if they touched the flywheel or the pickup... The P7 was fitted to many cars so a Marelli Specialist could check it on the bench to ...

ADIGE dry Clutch disc kits
I am posting this here, it would, could be interesting to add this info to the TECH FAQs I asked Adige to clarify what are the different part#s available for their dry clutch kits for OLD bikes (up to but excluding the 999), since they are divided by type of motorbike. Please note thsese refer only ...

Re: Mikuni carbies
have you tried loosening the intake headers? 1mm down there might translate in 2mm up where the carbs are touching the bracket. anyway, if it is possible , you can drill the brackets and move them forward 10mm, this would be the quick and easy solution. If I was you I would make a pair of new braket...

Re: REALLY stumped now
there are a couple of things that are often overlooked... a are the fuel hoses OK? dont say they are new, have you actually checked them ? sometimes they come "defective" but because you think they are new " and therefore must be OK" then you do not check if they actually deliver...

Re: DVLA !!!!! DATING CERTIFICATE
If I had known the DVLA were going to be A holes I would’ve done the frame thing but seeing as it’s just been rebuilt I’m determined to get it registered on an age related plate In that case just follow the procedure. https://www.docgb.org/machine-dating-age-verification-for-ducatis the DOC in UK w...

Re: DVLA !!!!! DATING CERTIFICATE
Write to Ducati, explain the issue and they will send you a letter stating the production date. Many years ago they did that for my 907 , they are the only ones that can certify that. now , WHAT WOULD I DO? forget the DVLA , get a good Paso frame on ebay (I got one for 75 quid including V5), swap th...

Re: Oil cooler lines
I think most fo what you will find is braided in ST-ST unless you go for something custoime made that will cost a fortune. The originals (recent models) have a sleeve where they rub , you could get a decent set from BF Goorich and ask them if it is possible to have them made with a sleeve on , alter...

Re: Hello - New 88 750 Sport owner
the longer the better, I just fitted an Ohlins (coming from SS1000) on my SS750 which is +2cm longer than the standard and the bike is completely different, a totally different (better) ride. Anyway, all SS had the same setup, get a SHOWA from the past generation (or an Ohlins, that is the best) and...

Re: correct chain for 89 900 ss
Original gearing (Final) was 15/37, which is way too tall for that engine. with that gearing @ 8500 RPM you would be going at 142MpH (Max RPM should be 9000) I would go for a 15/39 or 15/40, you loose few miles at the top end (maybe 4-5) but you will gain some "umpf" around the mid range w...
