Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss

Just got off the phone to a mate and he said to check your clutch line. I'm not sure if you have changed yours. He's had problems in the past where the hose has collapsed ( internally ) and the lever has been hard to pull in. Just a thought.

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss

I'd try a vacuum pump mate. They're pretty cheap on Ebay. It sounds like you still have air in the system.

Re: 750 Sport restoration project

I just removed the 20 mm slop at the start of the lever pull by screwing in the clutch lever screw. I'll do a proper bleed with fresh fluid after I take it for a ride to test it out.

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss

Crap, I just wrote out a heap of stuff then deleted it by accident :banghead: Start again. Try taking the master cylinder cover off and push the piston in as far as it will go. Watch that the fluid doesn't flow out of the master cylinder. If the piston bottoms out solidly and doesn't return a bit th...

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss

I would probably take the clutch cover off and "gently" squeeze the clutch lever and see if the piston move at all. Don't squeeze to hard because it'll pop out and put brake fluid everywhere. That's how I found out mine had seized. It should move pretty easily. Do you know whether he had th...

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss

That's what my clutch was doing. It felt like a brake lever. As you know it turned out to be the slave cylinder piston had seized in the bore. Which seal did you end up putting on the slave cylinder.

Re: 750 Sport restoration project

I wasn't getting anywhere just doing the normal bleeding method so I used the vacuum pump. It seemed to suck a lot of air out. To much to be honest but some of it was probably leaking where the tube connected to the bleed nipple. It still didn't work real well so I strapped the lever to the bar for ...

Re: 750 Sport restoration project

I finally got around to putting the new clutch seal in today. All went well except I couldn't get any pressure on the clutch lever byt doing a normal bleed so reverted to this. https://i.imgur.com/mjh5Nnz.jpg That still didn't seem to work so I thought I'll put it back on the bike lift and pull the ...

Re: Oil leaks 89 900 ss

Looking good mate. I have a ton of work to do on mine....not. I think I got done by a mobile speed camera on Wednesday on of all things the Cali. Double demerits too. I haven't been fined in over 27 years too. Could be walking for a bit  . Can't complain I suppose considering the things I've d...

Re: Ducati 750 Sport real value? $$$

It all depends in which part of the world you live in. In the USA no one seems to love them and you can pick them up for peanuts but over here in the madness of Australia people want absolutely stupid prices for anything and dumb people are willing to pay it.

Ummmmm...no   . I'm still trying to find some enthusiasm to be honest. I'm still being held prisoner in my LGA so enthusiasm is waning a bit. I'll get to it ....soon :D
