Re: HELP NEEDED Regulator Wires Brown & Pink

I think that any modern reg will require a bit of wiring modification . Paso has a couple of extra wires , one for a voltage sensor ( which can cause excessive charge voltage when the wiring gets a bit tired ) My paso has a honda reg fitted .... not by me but its worked well so far . I cant remember...

Re: Oils ain't oils?

Huh , oils may be getting more expensive ..... but so are engine parts and mechanic's labour . Motorbike engines are a bit different to cars in that they have the gearbox running in the same oil .....which "wears" out the oil faster , so service intervals need to be a bit shorter than cars...

Am sorry to say I think your going to need another cover. That one looks to hard to fix properly, specially as it involves a gasket surface

Re: 89 750 Sport Sprag Clutch

That sprag kit is for a bevel drive motor.......wont fit your belt drive . I would reccomend a proper flywheel puller ( dont use a 3 jaw puller , pulling on the circumferance can distort the flywheel ) as they can be unbelievably tight, so much so that you should be aware that upon releasing the fly...

Re: Keyed Ingition Switch packing up...

sounds like a grounding issue to me , but it could also be caused by a poor connection in the power supply leading to low voltage . Paso;s are rotten with them . The easiest way is to learn about testing for low voltage or voltage drop ( over a connection ). DSC01621.JPG I fitted 1 relay for each .....

Re: Rear shock options

I pulled my duoshock apart and give it a good clean out .The oil was dark and dirty. The shaft and the rubber bellows were in good condition and the unit wasnt leaking any oil so I just stuck it back together with new Yamaha oil ( sorry , cant remember what weight it was ). It sure was worth the eff...

I dunno about changing the chip to suit hi comp pistons ,I would have thought that if one was to arse about changing pistons surely you would go for the big bore kit.

Re: Cracked engine case 1988 Paso

Considering that any attempt to repair or replace the case is going to involve a complete strip down ,I guess it depends on how much effort you want to put into it , but I think I would give the area a good clean up ,bare metal , and put some metal based epoxy ( devcon ) on the wound and start looki...

Re: 750 Sport restoration project

Make sure the brake pads are not juggling about in the caliper, my R80 had a clunk over sharp bumps and it was the pads . Put a finger on the brake lever and see if the noise goes away :)
Could also be the forks topping out (R80 did that too )
