Re: Fan thermo sensor/switch
A lot of this type of part was also common on cars. Isn't there a site or posting of common parts that where also used on cars at the time? Maybe it's on that list.

Re: Oil change dramas
Interesting.
I have never had a problem with this. Maybe someone had it to tight to begin with. Check the shop manual available on this site for the proper torque.

Re: Sluggish starter
I recommend updating your wires. I installed this kit and man what a difference. Bikes kicks off twice as quick as it use to. Saves on the sprag starter clutch and the battery.

I'm Thinking of having my wheels powder coating freshened up
I'm thinking of have my wheels redone with fresh white powder coating over the winter. I know I will have to remove the bearings so I figure this would be a good time to replace them. Does anyone know which bearings to use along with the part numbers? I can get the part numbers from the microfiche b...
Re: Cog gear
higgy, Surprised you have had to put so many sprag clutches in. When I bought mine in 1992 it had 3,000 miles on it. I brought it home on a trailer, changed the oil and filter, wash and polished it, ready to ride. Push the starter button and the starter spun but didn't engage. Damn, brand new bike a...

Re: Ducati oil filter part no.
Derek, I know what you mean. About half the time the "nut" twists off and I have to drive a screw driver through the filter to get it off. But, I wind up doing that to just about any filter I put on. I guess I tighten them to tight. However, I can get the K&N filter at the local auto p...

Re: Ducati oil filter part no.
blakduc1, I have been using K&N-153 for years. Since my engine rebuild I've been using it. As with most K&Ns it has the wrench lug on it which makes it easy to put on and remove and K&N quality is proven. You can even get the 153 at Advance Auto or order pickup at Walmart. du907 https://...

Re: Another 907 back on the road (almost)!
blackduc1, Was great to meet and talk to you last Saturday (Suches, Ga. USA). It truly was a great time with plenty of cool bikes to look at, great roads to ride, and people to talk to. My favorite part was hearing all the Ducs slowing down to turn into Two Wheels. Nothing sounds like a Ducati geari...

Re: rear shock alternatives?
I'm hooking onto your post, but I believe my question is applicable here. What is the length from eye to eye of the rear shock for the 907? Is there any updating, valving, etc. that can be done to the front forks? I went to an "Italian Bike Day" at Two Wheels in Suches Ga. this weekend. It...

Re: idle adjustment cable replacement parts?
I used 2 wide zip ties on my bike. The kind heating and air condition installers use on round duct work. It doesn't keep the hose completely clear of the nut but evidently takes enough pressure off the nut. My bike would not idle down after it warmed up. Worked fine when it was cold. When I adjusted...

Re: idle adjustment cable replacement parts?
demidesmo, The guys above are spot on. Those are not the idle screws. I believe to access the idle screw you can gain access from the front opening of the fairing on the left side. You will need a long extension on a nut driver to make it work. The coolant hose swells when it gets hot and presses ag...

Re: Oil level in 907 M1R forks ?
My 2 cents: Fill the forks with oil leaving an air volume at the top of 180 mm (see drawing from M1R shop manual page). I do this either before or after I put the forks back on the bike. The way I get the 180 mm air space is I took a thin tube of copper from the hardware store (because it is stiff a...

Re: 92 907IE front brake
When you bleed the brakes you need to take the master cylinder loose from the handle bar and tilt the master cylinder level or the banjo fitting slightly down or you will be trying to get that hard lever feel all day. The way the master cylinder tilts slightly up when on the handle bar can cause a l...
