Starter Solenoid?

Post by pasomaniac »

Recently purchased a 1988 Paso 750. I have ridden the back several times and no buyers remorse here. However, the next time I tried to start it. The engine did not turn over and there was a click under the seat. Does this bike have a remote solenoid like older Ford vehicles and is it a Lucas unit with the imprints "REG D DES"?

Also, it is overcharging which I understand is common. Is there a non-Ducati (read inexpensive) replacement for the regulator-recifier.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If the solenoid under the seat is clicking but she doesn't turn over, perhaps the starter motor needs attention. There is quite a bit of related information on the site. Try searching 'starter', 'starting', 'solenoid', 'wiring upgrade', etc.

It is not unusual for the electrical systems to require upgrading.
