I have heard of people changin the regulator for the carbed monster units and other guy that has changed for a 99 750 ss regulator.
It wasnt a direct replacement, because of the different connector.
I think any regulator for a recent bike ( 6 or 7 wires) will work on the Paso.

I just replaced mine with a japanese unit that is more powerful & reliable than the paso ones & 1/3 the price. It did require a bit of rewiring (not by me I don't do electrics, I got the bikeshop to do it for me - Fineline Motorcycles @ Taree) They got on to the Jap regulator through North Coast V-Twins @ Coffs Harbour:

or

mail@vtwins.com.au

They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Either that or try Ducati Gowanloch @ Belmore in Sydney

02 9750 4346

I hope this helps keep the Paso dream alive !

If with this I solve something in Spanish but I will not try it. I
have been having changed the regulator of my passage for a year and
moto raises to me in its days to adactar another one of another one.
Despues to investigate much, feasible me fué but to place a model of
modern regulator but that makes for the Step and is not necessary to
make no history. For but understood I suppose that they sabran that
the alternator of STEP 750, 906 use a bífasico alternator. This is
not compatible with the alternators of others ducatis, since they are
trifasasicos. Respect is east regulator its reference is
siguiente:(054040011A)., if somebody wants as I installed it I can be
esplicar with but it details the procedure and to part the
modification of the anchorage of the same one.

Babblefish.com.... works better on some things than others!

 have sourced a replacement through Eurobrit in Victoria
they have a replacement regulator which covers several models including the Paso which copes with the higher output of the three phase alternators it was fairly resonably priced at about AU$225

thanks for all the help

Rodney,

I have had every electrical problem known to Mr Ducati (plus a few extras) in my 28 years of Ducati owneship especially my 906. If you have problems, send me an email, I have a few local contacts that do a good job for a fair price.

Hey thanks for the translation, I think that i actually understood more when it was in Spanish but I appreciate the effort.

Rodney, glad you have been able to sort it so quick. I have never used Eurobrit mainly because I can always get what I want from V-twins or Gowanloch, were you impressed with them? I have heard good things about them.

Jomo, I reckon that I will be in touch with you next time something goes Pop on the Paso. 28 years of Ducati-dom is pretty impressive

Good to see a bit of an Aussie network building here, let's keep it up!!! (not forgetting our "cousin Skins" over the Tasman of course)

That's good to know, it seems that service is still something that exists in the Italian Bike field, it was certianly non existant when I had Jap bikes (15 years ago) & had to wait 8 months for an indicator lens

As you are a Sydney sider have you used Gowanloch at all?
