swingarm chain slider

Post by paso750 »

just fyi
I`ve talked to TM Designworks in the US two weeks ago. http://www.tmdesignworks.com/
They could make the swingarm chain slider for the Paso. (not the small one for the center stand though)
Like usual minimum order quantity would be 100 pieces (or more). No info about costs until they get a new original chain slider for evaluation and as sample.
I`ll not be following up on this at current time but I wouldn`t want this info to get lost.

I also noticed the chain slider of the 2008 Monster 696 (#44710731A). I wonder if the dimension are about the ones of the Paso chain slider. If so this could be modified to fit. Maybe someone wants to check.

G

I've got someone who says they could do it too with a smaller (slightly) minimum but the probelme is finding a new original to map up. even if I could find one I could probably get it mapped and save the file for future use

I'd be interested in the small one.

I have a brand new little one ----not for sale----but useful if we can get a replacement mapped out.

why not try for both at the same time?

could you post close up photos of it shot from different angles
I have an engineer friend with a milling machine and lathe and, most importantly, knowledge about materials. It might be asimple enough shape that he could make one... or a bunch

jeesh, at that price, unless shipping to USA is expensive, I'd just buy one

They're gone again, so if anyone can make them, great.

3D printing?

Measure it up as best you can and I can have one of my engineers do it up in solid-works or proE

3D printing?
In bio degradeable PLA ? The best would be POM (copolymer acetal) but then you`ll have to find someone who does this. I`m sure it would be more expensive than just adapting the Monster part.

What's the normal price for the original Paso part?
I mean a factory correct one.
