Fairing Bolts?

Post by delagem »

I have read thru the posts on here, and a frequent recommendation is to use McMaster Carr to source these.

All the 6mm metric button head cap screws on their site have 10.5mm diameter heads. The OEM bolts have 15mm diameter heads, so they won't look the same.

Am I missing something here? Even worse, try finding a plastic washer in either the 6mm/10.5mm or 6mm/15mm ID/OD! Doesn't seem to exist.

I have tried Fastenal and HoloKrome, no luck with either of those.

Those eBay kits all seem to have the 10.5mm sized button heads, too.

Anyone have any success with this?

Probolt do anodised alloy fairing screws(16mm). They do the washers too.

Those Pro-bolt kits do look nice! And I always wondered why no one did body fastener kits in aluminum.

But I was hoping to find a source for just a couple of fasteners, here in the USA. Surprised it's such an unusual size head.

I'm just going to order a few used OEM from my buddy the Ducati parts breaker. The 8mm on the highest point on my tank will be converted to a 6mm, since he doesn't have any Paso bolts...
