Right side mirror needed

Post by docbob »

Yes, a mishap destroyed the right side mirror on my 907ie. Anyone know how to locate one?

Hi Bob,

sorry to hear you cracked a mirror.
try Ebay or Far in Italy. they produce replica's which will do the job.

Thanks guys,

Unfortunately, my mirror is the one with the little clips rather than the studss. They are very difficult to come by.

US $300.00 !!!!!!! plus postage ????

McTool the cost of those Far mirrors is obscene they must only cost about $52 (US) each to buy direct, sadly though you have to buy them in numbers of 25 plus. :banghead:

Yeah ! I want a spare set .... but not that bad , still I spose if you gotta have them you would have to cough up, me ... Im eyeing E-bay daily so I you want some you will have to be quicker than me :) . I have seen pix of Paso's where some one has grafted other mirrors/blinkers onto them but I really cant see the point as IMHO they are as fundamental to the Paso as the square frame and the fully enclosing body work, 16's and that weber , I guess if its your only transport needs must. And how badly damaged would they have to be before you couldn't repair them :)

Now that's broken , but still fixable :)

I got a set of FAR -mirrors directly out of Italian factory in grey primer for € 82 a pair incl. posting/packaging and stuff like that. and once in colour and mounted you have to look closely to see the difference.
yes, the orginal ones with the mounting plate are better in many details. but they become scarce.
I have bought some battered original sets to repair one day. because the mirrors are one of the distinctive PASO parts.

Hi McTool,
your leg was definitely broken. did it heel well in such way that you got the most important functionality back?
more or less my mirror looks the same, but still I think it's fixable.

That mirror is a challenge but I bet you could fix it ... just like a jigsaw . I think the thing to do is find the correct adhesive as not all types will work on some plastics , I would go for a polyester rather than epoxy for that .
Leg? nah , 4 years on and Im still having bone grafts that don't quite work , still on crutches , and the orthopaedic guy keeps talkin amputation , I also crushed my foot , ripped my knee apart , busted my hip & pelvis and buggered my sciatic nerve so at its best possible its never going to be great :)

we have a glue here in the states called rapid fix
It is a form of superglue and comes with a powdered form of activator
Works on all kinds of plastic as well as lots of other materials and is sandable once dry

RapidFix is the only product that can repair windshield wiper bottles over flow tanks and air intake systems. Rapidfix can also repair, gas tanks, radiators, headlight housings and can be used for electrical wiring. Unlike all other instant adhesives RapidFix has a special formula and will not dry out in the bottle. RapidFix Saves time, Saves money and is absolutely amazing.

Now that looks interesting

higgy if they won't post to over here would you be able to source a couple of marine packs for me and post to UK if I settle with you via paypal?

Polyester resin works just fine. I did fix a couple of mirrors in the past with it.

yes polyester works, much harder to sand and takes longer to cure

Rapidfix is very fast and easily shaped and sanded or machined or whatever

I have found on washer bottles that some forms of washer solvent specifically the bug remover variety will in a week or two dissolve it...not sure why
