taillight modification
I`ve never liked those black dividers between the taillight and turnsignal reflectors and after a tip from Claude I`ve now tried what he did and covered them and some other bits with chrome foil. (Needless to say that everything needs to be cleaned and degreased and never touch or wash the chrome reflectors!)
some foil was added on the back (which might be unnecessary)
inside the taillight lens
and on those dividers
now the differences in the pictures may look disappointing but then you must figure that this is inside the house and staring directly into a 5W bulb and the camera turns down the shutter so it`s things like the shape of the glare around the bulbs, the width of the bright line on the floor or the center red spot on the carpet that show that the modified taillight on the second picture is a bit brighter than the original one on pic one.
the turnsignal with the lens removed. The divider with the chrome foil on it increases the scattering angle and also ads a bit to the brightness (pic.2)
I didn`t expect miracles but there is an improvement over the original taillight and it`s cheap, too.

Gerhard,
You have me worried!! Playing around with lighting options would indicate that the list of jobs to complete the Paso has become very short. So you are now just tackling those very last items. When is she likely to get unveiled?
Cheers,
Fraser.

Re: taillight modification
No need to worry Fraser I have done it too . I used ally foil tape and then had a good idea ( that's usually how it goes ) I once had a spray can of some epoxy fake chrome .... which predictably didn't look like chrome at all , but it was enough to make a pair of scruffy fork sliders look new ( probly looked like shit by the time the new owner rode it home .... ) ........but I reckon it would work great for this and or reconditioning flaking reflectors

Fraser, the list is so short I`m actually removing brandnew parts from the bike again to modify them.

Re: taillight modification
As LED was a topic concerning dashboard I asked myself whether anybody had good results with LED taillight or signal bulb's.
I ones tried a led taillight. disappointing result.... But meanwhile there are appearing more and more LED replacements.
Has anybody had an Improvement with LED bulbs?

Re: taillight modification
Is it legal in Switzerland ?
Re: taillight modification
No idea... to be honest I don't really care. There are far to many blinds, sleepers and other idi..... on the road
Everything which increases safety I consider as allowed. I don't believe that really anybody (uniformed) cares about

Re: taillight modification
Whats the deal with this " legal " crap ? In NZ we go for a 6 monthly vehicle check , the tester will check the operation of various lights, and if light shines out of it , its a pass. Would your testers remove lens covers ( or whatever ) to check the type of bulb . To punish someone for having an LED bulb instead of an ordinary bulb in their tail light seem absurd ..... how do they police it ?
