Spark plug wires .....

Post by Frank.61 »

Gentlemen,

I've bought the Dynatek mini coils for my Paso 750 and in the carton box the terminals were enclosed.
Question which spark plug cables do I need?
I've seen "ordinary" 7mm silicone spark plug wire ($5 per meter) or do I need something special? :?:
I just want it to work fine (with the original ignition system) and no interference with the electronics (are there any on the 750, with the exception of the Kokusan ignition modules) but I have no idea if there is a cult around these wires like e.g. the starter cables ..... ;)

Hope for some advise

7 or 8 mm will be fine
Ducati, making mechanics out of riders since 1946
There's no problem so bad that a little fixing can't make it worse! : )
If it ain't broke keep fixin it till it is

What kind of caps do I need?7 :?:
With or without resistance?

The old (originals?) are stuck, so can't compare?

:dunno:

That depends on the spark plugs you're using. If you have spark plugs with a resistor suppressor use caps w/o and vice versa.
You don't use spark plugs and caps w/ resistance as that will have negative influence on your spark and using both w/o is not legal in Germany.

Thanks Gerhard,

Since I will use NGK DPR8EIX-9 (recommended by NGK) it is a plug with a 5KOhm resistor so I can use a simple plug cap.
