Pressing on with sorting a new to me bike and I have an issue with "Warped" front rotors.

The bike was in the shop to have some work done (hoping to get a few weeks of riding in before the snow flies) and the tech noted the obvious that the front rotors are warped. He mentioned having them turned but couldn't remember who they'd used so I did a little googling and turned up this place.


$45 for each rotor (if they can be done within factory minimum tolerances) +$5 each if they are floating.

The EBC replacement rotors aren't floating so I'm not sure they are an upgrade over stock aside from being stainless. I tried to look through the parts cross reference and didn't see a cross reference for the 750/906 bikes.

Anyway, have any of you had rotors turned? Bigger stretch, has anyone used true disk?

Todd - Great lead and worth a try! I would think most of us will need this service eventually. The only other tip I know of that offers some potential came from a 900ss forum, with tne supersport fan claiming success using a machine shop’s flywheel resurfacing tool. Price was comparable.

That works. I will also post feedback.

My 900 Supersport is moderately pulsing. New Brembo rotors are readily available, but Truedisk should achieve a new result for around 1/4 price I’ve messaged Mike and expect to send the discs to him this week.

Received the rotors from Tom at Truedis, installed & tried out today. Pulsing gone and they work as new. Cost was $50 each plus actual shipping costs. He removed less than 1/10 mm of material by my measurement. I have before and after pictures but posting here is not intuitive. I am sure instructions are in faq. I will get to it when I have time. Short answer is that they have a perfect cross hatch, look and function as new. Highly recommended!

Long time to get here but I dropped my rotors in the post to Trudisk yesterday.

Thanks for the feedback Dave. Did you install fresh pads while doing the re-fresh?

I sanded them lightly, which worked well. But, you cant go wrong with new pads.

Great guy to work with. Shipped the rotors to him Friday, got them back the following saturday via post.

Would like to get it all back together this weekend but that front axle spacer is causing a problem. Shop that mounted the tires says the bike couldn't be ridden without the spacer. They don't have one but found a dealer that shows several in stock. I'm 99% sure it didn't fall out when I pulled the axle out.

I was a bit distracted when I was removing the wheel as the LH side of the wheel was rubbing on the inside of the fender. It was a very tight fit getting the caliper out. I'm going to put the wheel back together and test fit it to the forks to see if the missing spacer could push the wheel to the left.

When I get into the shop I think this'll be clear but...

Does the spacer fit the 17mm part of the axle or the larger 22mm shoulder?

I know that the spacer is 3mm wide, but i'm not sure the ID and OD.

The spacer sits on the 17mm section. The outer diameter is of course a bit smaller than the outer wheel bearing cage. The spacer must only touch the inner bearing cage or otherwise it would block the bearing. The od of the wheel bearing is 42mm. Considering the height of the bearing cage the od of the spacer is probably 30 to max 35mm.
